How To Install GFWL W/out Errors on Windows 10

1. Uninstall any previous GFWL you may have installed on your PC
2. Go to Settings and then search Apps & Features > Scroll down to the XBOX App click on it and then click Advance Settings > Reset
3. Go back to the GFWL Download page and then click where it says Click Here and GFWL will re-download or use this link for a direct download - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201134
4. Once it finish downloading click the box in your browser where it shows the download to launch the download and then install
5. If done right the box will popup asking you to log in with your Microsoft account info which would be your e-mail you use for Microsoft Live or XBOX Live if you already have an XBox Account.

If you don't already have a Microsoft Account or XBOX live account it's simple just go to xbox.com and create an account

Please remember this is only a guide to help you get the GFWL program installed without getting the No Internet Connection error even if you get it installed more troubleshooting maybe be needed to get the game itself working so please do not leave nasty comments if your game still doesn't work after getting the GFWL Program installed correctly[/b][/i]

I'll add one point - you might need to manually run the GFWL installer with admin privileges. At least it's the case for me.

I hear it and not sure wha it is but that's not breathing too much time between noises 5-10 seconds person breath once every 1 to 2 seconds, Video was used GeForce Experience to take that video and there was no mic attached

So basically what we had to do was launch the GFWLive installer, get to the failed screen, leave it open navigate to C:\Users\( your username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GFWLive\Downloads . What you will see is that 2 files are downloaded there and will be auto-deleted once you close the app. So when it fails, find those files and install them and it worked after that.

thank you so much, this worked, and i can now start the game. hopefully i wont run into any crash issues, but if i do, i know i can come back to the discussions!

I did exactly that and it still failed. It shows me that the files have been installed but it won't let me connect and sign in. Just gives the same failed screen

it turned out even after fixing gfwl my msi after burner was not compatible with the early versions of resident evil games, just exiting it fixed the issues.

Exactly. GFWL is an issue for all the old Windows LIVE games. Most of them are not playable since LIVE stopped. XBOX took over but they never bothered to fix this issue for old retail copies. They are not playable in Windows 10. Their simple response is ..."if you really need to play the game forget the money you paid for your retail copy and download the xbox version.So more money for them.Crook business but who cares at the end of the day.

Confusing. There are newer posts on this board. especially around mods that GFWL is not needed. GFWL trashed my saves so i am not in the mood to try anything 'so-so'. It either works without it or not. What is the true state?
