Where can I find laser melting metal blocks?

The laser can only melt thin metal bars (that usually block an entrance).

You usually do so by using your laser gun's alt-fire (right mouse click), and if you can't use the right mouse button with your laser-gun, then it means you haven't reached a certain point in the game yet.

If I'm not mistaken, the alt-fire laser can only melt metal bars when it does a certain amount of damage, around 128 and above, I think (which you'll be able to find out from looking at the numbers below your laser-gun's icon at the bottom left of the screen).

laser damage upgrades can be found in treasure chests scattered all over the sandbox.
