Until Keybindings arrive, here are the various key controls
Not being able to change keyboard controls is frustrating. It took away a lot of my enjoyment from this game.

Yes, you can use AutoHotKey and various different tools to hack together your own keybindings, but the screen icons still show otherwise.

So, to help people deal with this until remappable keybindings arrive, I wanted to make this post to highlight all the different keyboard control options. Please post more if you can find them.

MOVEMENT
  • Arrow keys
  • WASD
  • Numpad Keys (You can use the diagonal keys for easy diagonal attacks with the Yo-yo!)

INTERACTION
  • Z
  • Q
  • Enter
  • Backspace

JUMP
  • Space
  • Numpad 0

ATTACK/ITEM
  • X
  • E
  • Numpad 5

INVENTORY
  • C
  • I
  • R
  • 2 (Not Numpad)

MAP
  • V
  • M

PAUSE
  • Escape
  • P

SWITCH ITEMS
  • 1 and 3

Let me know if I missed any, and I will edit them in. And of course, once changing the keyboard controls becomes a feature, I will edit this post to say as much at the top.

Could someone list the controller binds as well? I'm curious if this is playable with an arcade controller (dpad and buttons are there, but no sticks, and the triggers are digital buttons).

edit: Figured them out, at least based on the early game, not sure if there are more used later. Based on these the game seems playable with an arcade controller.

(using XInput/Xbox 360 controller labels)

There is also an option to swap the confirm button which might be handy for people who prefer the old JP PlayStation layout with Circle to confirm.
It is highly recommended to play on a controller

Yeah, I saw that popup on the page startup when I first booted up the game. I don't have any of those controllers, unfortunately. :/
It should work with just about any kind of gamepad you can connect to your PC. Worst case scenario, you can have Steam Input translate it into a standard Xbox gamepad.

well... no spoilers, but definitely fool around with m+kb if you only play with an xbox controller.
