I bought this game in a bundle with Cross-Stitch Puzzle mostly to get 100% achievements to boost my personal statistics, but unfortunately the game's crashing constantly, level 7 (which I got to in under 20 minutes) is blank, I can't do anything about it, even reinstall didn't help. I consider refunding the game if developers won't release a patch that would fix the game. It's not optimized enough to be playable. But after all the game is super cute and I recommend buying this only when it's gonna be fully repaired ♥

So they fixed the game. There is now a level 7. All of the achievements work well also!
It's ok for a match 3 game, but I can't comment on the music becuase I always play these things while watching streams.

I wouldn't bother buying this. Game has been bugged for at least 6 months where you can't get past level 7. Initial tutorial isn't procedural and you can actually not be able to finish it without restarting the tutorial until you can.

The excuse for not fixing the game, even though they said they were going to fix it multiple times, in the discussion forums is "devs are people too." Don't buy it. I'd see if I could get Steam to remove the game due to this making it literally unplayable, but I don't know how to go about this.

Cheap mobile port, no windowed mode, but easy achievements and 100 %.

Adorable Match-3 game. Pretty simple and obvious matching, especially when it comes to matching 4, which gives you a powered up creature and matching 5 that gives you a rainbow shell. Both of these give you much more points in creating further matches, but the rainbow shells can make up the difference for a whole star in completing a level. These are extremely valuable when you get two beside each other and can clear the whole board in a single move. This gave me 3 Stars instantly, though points threshold may differ depending on the level, so be wary about that. The boosters are pretty fair, ranging from single creature removal, to directions, one entire creature type snatched away. You can grind out previous levels to gain some more coins to buy more, as well as extra moves in case you run out. Overall the game is fair, but certainly offers challenges with much heavier goals and points needed to pass a level as you progress. I'd say the difficulty shifts based on goals rather than how deep you go into the game, but that really gives you a variety of levels you need to be prepared for and learn how to make the best matches when tackling them. Mermaid Land puts a cute costume on a relaxing genre. I definitely enjoyed my time.

Mermaid Land is a mobile app like match-3 game that's been dumped on Steam as shovelware/pollution.

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.

The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers.

This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this is a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

Wisely, the developers removed this from the store, realising that they had dumped mobile app garbage on Steam and that was a bad thing to do. This had the result of slightly improving the quality of all video games everywhere.

Not very good. But I can't say bad either. Ideal for spending time.
