I get a BIG performanceboost in VR! Here is what i did!
go to! C:\Users\**********\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Open the Engine.ini with notepad or Editor

Copy this and paste it at the end:

Now i have always 90FPS with shadow medium, texture hight, effeckts hight, Sampling 100% post processing medium, distance view high, mirrow low (50 meters) and materials epic... lets try it and tell me how it works for you.

my specs are I7 8700K @4,7 GHZ, 16 GB DDR and 2080Ti...

I know its a hight end pc but before i did this i had massiv frame drops down to 45!

I find pixel density 150%, AA Temporal Epic and sharpness 300% a must to get decent sharpness on Samsung Odessey Plus. Mirror on low and mostly other stuff on mid.

you didnt have frame drops down to 45, just right below 90, which makes Autosynchronous Space Warp kick in on Rift and Motion Smoothing on Vive, which makes it lock it to 45 and feel more like 90
Now you have a couple more fps so it always stays above 90.

hi.. it seems interesting..
did you have your eng.ini tweaked before?
RebelDiamonds88 May 11, 2019 @ 3:28am
Wow that's amazing, and only on a paltry 2080ti lololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol

I just opened my engine.ini file and I have a completely different set of options.

@DonPromillo - Which headset are you using?

You don't understand? I had with the same PC much slower performance without tewaking the Engine.ini. Try it! I did a Rain race in night and have 90% of the race 90fps... before it was a bad performance with the same computer and grafik settings....

I'll have to give it a try. I have exactly the same setup, just more RAM. So hopefully this change makes it run better. I've had OK performance, but for a 2080ti it's been laughable lately.

Thank you for the post.

I will have a look thanks Don. I've a 1080 and an i5 9600k, I've long given up getting this game to run in VR even half bells and whistles, I can lock 90 but its a total immersion breaker graphics wise, really far behind my other sims. I don't get anywhere after 1.0 release I'll take a look at the ini, thanks for posting

Whats your point? Maybe dont try to play new-gen game in VR on a potato?
Everything below 1080 is just not suitable for VR, and a 1080 is barely enough. Thats how it is for 3 years, seems people like you didnt get the memo yet.
idk why u guys are crying about performance.. im playing this game in 2k on Max settings with perfectly fine 88-90 FPS... and i never had a drop yet

i7-8700k (5,0Ghz) 1080 (2050Mhz)
all watercooled
32 GB RAM
o.e

....... In VR?

Because I run 5.1ghz, 32gb RAM, 2089mhz on a 2080ti.

And I cant run max settings and get 11.1ms in my VIVE Pro or VIVE original.

VR is atm waste af, im waiting for the new ones.
Higher Resolution etc.

but ye, i tested it in VR too,
got around 70-79 FPS (Max and 2k) even with 200m Mirror distance

MY GPU goes never over 59 c (NZXT watercooled) and runs always with 2020-2034MHZ.

that´s why i have no clue why there are so much performance threads :o
It works perfectly fine for me
