1. How to transfer the previous save data?

b. Matching save data slots
*The following solution won't work for existing Director's Cut patched version and its corresponding save data.
  • Copy the original AppID's save folders somewhere as backup.
  • Uninstall the previous Muv-Luv games.
  • Install the new versions of Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative.

For each new version of the game, do the following steps:

  • Run the game once, and open all save slots. To "unlock" them, you can do either of the following:
    i. Click save and only unlock the matching existing save slots from the previous version.
    ii. Click save and fill up every single save slot with the same sceneーWe got a report from a user that Muv-Luv Alternative can't save beyond 73 slots, so we recommend the former solution (i.)
  • Once all save slots are occupied, close the game and turn off Steam Cloud sync, located under Steam “Properties”→”Updates”→.then unchecking “Enable Steam Cloud synchronization”.
  • Copy the previous Muv-Luv save folder over to the new version's local directory located inside "steamapps/common" folder.
  • Turn Steam Cloud sync on once again, and all original save data should be transferred to the new version.

3. I already bought Muv-Luv/Muv-Luv Alternative before, how do I get this version?
For Muv-Luv Kickstarter Backers - New keys for Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative were added to BackerKit. Please check your pledge details and browse the "Digital Downloads" section.

For Steam Users who owns the original AppID(s) - Valve support said they’re currently looking for ways so the original AppID owners can also get the new versions. If we can’t solve the problem before the end of March, we’ll be using Steam API to fix the issue.

4. I'm getting an Error Code 86 after applying the Director's Cut patch, what should I do?
a. Denpasoft buyers should get an email from Denpasoft about the patch update.
b. Backers can choose to download the 2018 Director's Cut files from BackerKit, or use the 100% discount promo code on Denpasoft!

Waiting on news of the patch before I purchase. Been waiting to play these for a while
Can we make Let's Play Videos/Stream the non-Director's Cut version of the game? When I asked Degica before they said it was alright, but now that rights have moved to ixtl/Sekai Project I want to make sure I'm not stepping on any toes.

It should just be in your steam library. Not this version as it is a different appid, but the product you bought previously that is identical

How about my previous dlc pre order bonus for old muv luv?
I just had to re-purchase the Director's Cut DLC... I am Not Amused.

I was NOT sent a email for the repaired patch. I suppose that's what happens when I buy patches too early...

Additionally, I went back and dug out my original reciept email, and could NOT download said patch from the link given.

I'm pretty sure you do, I've only unlocked the start achievement but it was postpatch

It's well past march and this issue has not been fixed. I only noticed this because I just bought MLA
