kinda dislike drippy

okay, so, maybe this will be pretty unpopular opinion, but I feel a little uncomfortable about drippy... (ik maybe I'm being kinda sensitive, but I'd like to know)

He's funny, he's cool, he's the best Lord of the fairys that has ever been, but there was something about his attitude during the first encounter that were really off to me and it is him making fun of a little boy who just lost his mom... also, I don't know in japanese, but the english voice said something like "What, are you not coming because your mom just drop dead?" and in the spanish subs it was even more rude: "What, are you not coming because your mom just went to the other side"

I'm pretty early in game, so I guess (I'm taking my time) there are thing I haven't seen yet, but I was talking to a friend about the game and how I disliked the way NIco was convinced to go and save Drippy's world (even all that thing about twin souls seem pulled out from the sleeve when Drippy asked for the mom's portrait), and my friend asked me if the game's community had theorys about it. I looked for them in this forum I didn't see anything so, I'm asking, what do you think about this?

(I also think it was for Nico's best to take his mom's dead off of his mind for a while, but that does not convince me at all about Drippy)

the kid needs to save the world. if he cant take a joke from a 2 foot fairy he wouldnt be able to face the end boss. if you get there you will know why. talk about emotional damage the poor lad needs to be ready.

also drippy is welsh in the english dub [the only one that matters] in wales they all talk like that mun.

Tysm, it's good to know there's some explanation for his way to be, 'cause even if i can understand english and I'm able to notice when someone has a different accent, I don't really know where could someone be from nor the things that it means.

My general "weird" feeling came because, even if in english the voice sounds playful when he asks about Nico's mom, the sub they decided to use for spanish makes it sound kinda sarcastic, but I also get it surely has to do with the translation and not the character itself, because he has been nice and all that since then. It just hit me weird because of the way death is treated between my close family (and 'cause I, myself, am pretty bad at reacting to that in front of other people, and use to feel kinda afraid of hurt someone)

haha, tysm, I'll definitely read those post in detail once I get to know that other character they're mentioning (Swaine, the robber, I guess). It's also kinda funny finding I was not the only one thinking that first interaction was kinda rude, and there's people even thinking Drippy's attitude is so near to bullying.

Thank you so much again for the explanation and also taking the time to look for disscusions/post about and get back here to share. Drippy definitely deserves love, but that man also needs to calm down sometimes

The end boss? Eeeh, i wouldn't say the end boss is 'emotional damage" but the one that is a few before it sure is.
