Difinitive Edition

I'm honestly confused, and I want the devs to confirm this, or atleast someone. So Apparently the Edition would only have been given to players who owned The Three Brothers DLC. But The entire Outward store page, is now Outward Difinitive. Meaning, that it was given to everyone for free. I have it, I don't own the dlc. There is only one Outward store page, one which is Outward Difinitive Edition. My guess is that it got merged with the base game. Please can someone confirm this?

DE is given for free, if you own Original Outward + The Three Brothers DLC.

It got "merged". DE content is treated as DLC. If you don't download it, you're just playing the base game. Unfortunately if you do download it, it redownloads the entire game again for the DE changes. My Outward folder is like 51 GB because of it.

I wonder if someone new, who purchased DE only, also owns the Original Outward as well. Because technically, at Steam you can't own just DLC.

if you launch your game from steam, it will ask which version of the game you want to launch. Select DE and once you get to the start screen it should show as "Outward DE". DE has both dlc within it, so it should just show as DE.

My assumption is that by purchasing DE, you also got Original Outward + DLC (Three Brothers) to that.
DE is a rework, which includes content of base game + all DLCs, so it doesn't really matter if you own any DLC from store page or not.

They didn't change that much, it's just the DE is treated as a DLC.

Just got tree brothers dlc and indeed re-downloadded the whole game it seems... Now my problem is that my saved games seem to be gone. Cannot select continue from main menu only new game :(

You can try to migrate your saves from vanilla to the DE.

Definitive is a re release that overhauls many systems.
The files are not at all compatible. Have to make a brand new character the games are too different.

Just tried that to no avail. The in-game migrate button that should apear at top left of the screen is not there

I do not own either DLC, store page says I already own definitive edition, Installing and launching the game seems to only be the base game. If I purchase the 'three brothers' DLC will I be able to play DE or is there extra steps?

When downloading Three Brothers it will automaticly download and install DE. Then when you hit play you choose if you want to play DE or vanilla

ok. i must have selected the wrong thing cuz it shows 3 brothers in the title when it boots and the 3 brothers shows as the only dlc owned. even though its the DE version that i bought
