Open Beta Testing - instructions & feedback.
I regularly upload builds with small fixes I've been working on, and you can choose to get these updates as well. Eventually, this will also mean you get new content and features before anyone else! For now it's mostly bugfixes and adjustments.

Feedback is greatly appreciated: If a supposedly fixed bug keeps happening to you, let me know. If it is fixed, you can also confirm it so my soul rests at ease. Please any feedback specific to the beta builds should remain in this thread to avoid confusions. Once there is new content, this is especially important to avoid spoilers.

How to get the Beta

1) On your Steam Library, right click on Exiled Kingdoms, select Properties.
2) Click on tab BETAS.
3) Enter the password: EKbetatesting
4) In the selector, pick the Open Beta.

That's all!

There is currently no beta build to test.

I am uploading Beta 1.1.1078

-German translation up to 99% (Only some Icemist dialogues missing)
-Italian translation up to 68%
-Adds a missing Russian dialogue in NG.
-External controllers can now map more controls, like D-Pads and PoVs.
-Small UI adjustments.

The changes to controller input should not cause any problem with the rest of game controls, but as it's a delicate part of the game, any feedback is welcome.

-fireball now explodes when reaches the maximum range.
-ranged attack distance is better calculated, sometimes upon clicking an enemy the player would shoot, yet the projectile fall short by very little. Should not happen anymore (or be very rare)
-solved the bug that could cause the player to be pushed back very far away when bashed.

In a couple days there will be a beta with extra resolution options and extra save slots, including a new autosave when new area is entered. Still working on it all, but it's being a productive weekend.

I just tried the beta, and it got to the loading screen and crashed.
I reset the game to the original (without beta) and the exact same thing happen.

So, after a week of addictive and continous gameplay, I am forced to take a break, as I cannot launch the game anymore. Both beta and non beta games are now unable to launch - crash after the loading screen.

DavidBVal, please let me know what I can do to get the game going again

BTW, I cannot find a place to post the beta crash bug, so I put it on this thread.
Please move it to anywhere appropriate if this is the wrong place.

Hello Jargonaut, can you please:

1) uninstall the game and restart your PC
2) install and open it again.
3) if it still crashes, post the contents of the file init_log.txt

Hi David,
My problem is solved, and it turn out to be my virus checker Avast that was preventing your game from launching after I started the beta.
Now I put the path (of your game) into the virus exclusion list, and it launches well.

Uploading version 1.1.1081:

-Includes options to change the game resolution in the Settings menu. You can also set it manually in a file called init.ini in the game folder, which will be created when you run the game.
-Adds two extra manual save slots
-Adds a new "area autosave", which will save the game when a new area is entered.
-Fixes the crash when dying in ironman mode.
-Duel skill will now work correctly when attacking with the mouse.
-Friendly NPCs will return to their spawn points upon a reload, so they can't perma-block you anymore.

I did yes, 1920x1080 fullscreen. Works great. Would love to be able to zoom the characters out a little so they are sharper but I understand why that isnt available.

The actual resolutions work great through.
