As you can see in the video, this has become a common problem with my game. I tried every fix mentioned by support however they are still looking into it "hopefully". Every now and then the buildings begin to flicker, then game stutters hard to 1 FPS and shortly later game crashes to desktop.
This also will eventually happen each game, vanilla or modded by the way.
Based on how the game behaves, it is becoming more apparent that this is a distinct driver issue. I post this in hopes that possibly the devs or playerbase might know a solution to the problem.
Fullscreen is known to be buggy!
Yea I have, I also toned down the graphics and everything. As well as played in windows 7 mode.
I then changed to a 6800XT, my first AMD card for some time.
what I noted was tha tall of the AAA type titles that I tried performed as expected. That performance was good. I especially liked the driver UI.
BUT.....
when it came to this game the 6800XT performed worse than the 1080Ti, or, rarely, on par.
The same could be said for the game Medieval Dynasty.
Other games that I would also class as Indie titles had similar issues.
The issues were general performance, against what should have been expected, as various glitching. But it was the performance that was most problematic.
I suggest raising the issue also over at AMD's dedicated forums, perhaps that might help. Even tho I did just that there was no official response, or change in the short time I had that AMD card.
Returning the card and then going for an MSI 3070 and this game, along with the other problematic Indie titles, ran as expected, both in terms of performance and glitching.
Fresh in stalls of the OS (either Win 10 or !in 11) did nothing to alleviate the issues, neither did driver revisions.
Even the drivers tab reported for me that the performance was "marginal".....

Have you tried various AMD motherboard / chipset drivers - I had an Intel platform.
Also is your PSU ok, in terms of its ability to handle the wattage that some of these high end cards can demand, albeit for micro seconds - not the typical constant load...?
Best of luck with your issues.
Yea I get about the same stats as you did with the game, with also the same settings though I think I turned anti-lag off to see if that would help. Everything on my computer is fine, my PSU is rated at 1200 watts and more than capable of handling my hardware, plus everything on my computer is water-cooled and never goes above 50-60C in temperature. Everything is also updated driver wise to the latest updates. I could possibly try some other settings with AMD to pinpoint and find out what exactly might be causing it, but it does seem to stem from how AMD handles and processes textures in the game that is causing the issue.
As a developer standpoint I am not sure but I think AMD has an official AMD support reporting platform for developers. From what I've seen with games that have issues with AMD is that they create a support ticket to AMD and then get a dedicated rep for it or something.
The Seasonic Prime Ultra PSU that I had struggled when I tested out a 3080Ti, due to power spikes, not from typical use. Crashes and random shutdowns occurred. The Corsair I now have is fine, in that respect.
Your 6900XT seems to be performing, in this game, worse than my 1080Ti. I had a fourteen days return window, not ideal. But I expected the performance to be as good in the Indie games I played as I saw in the AAA titles. In that respect the AMD card was not a keeper, for me.
The 3070 I ended up with is a good improvement over my 1080Ti and this game, along with those other Indies ones, works as expected.
Good luck but AMD need to get better at supporting the non AAA titles. I got zero response from AMD with the issues I reported when I had the 6800XT. Perhaps you'll do better.
Personally I just hope this issue is resolved soon as I was in the middle of expanding my city which is really sad. I might start a new game sometime soon just to give it another shot in hopes that maybe just maybe it was some weird issue with the map but I dont know.
Hopefully if you keep AMD involved something might be improved with both the glitching and the rather dismal performance.
Good luck.
Yea, I'm going to send a support ticket to them regarding it. Gonna make a video of the new game doing it as well and send all of the videos to them.
I just tried your save just in case.. and I not get issue like you :( .. please if you will find some solution just let us known...maybe try play with the driver settings quality.. something similar there is with NVIDIA cards.. one guy reported helps to change setting in the NVidia control panel https://steamcommunity.com/app/784150/discussions/6/4758602630157792222/
Yea I was playing around in the AMD driver settings for the game and turned off image sharpening. Doing that allowed me to play longer than expected but unfortunately game still did the same after some time. I am pretty much convinced it's a driver issue relating to textures but have still yet to find the exact thing that is causing it.
As of this posting, I just disabled vertical refresh and AMD freesync as they were the last two options that were still on. So ill give it another try once I get home.

I can definitely confirm it's a AMD driver issue, after disabling everything I can within AMD I was able to successfully run the game for about 2-3 hours before it did the same thing again and crash. Atleast I was able to get really far into my game before it happened.
trying to pan is the easiest way to accelerate the crash.
Yea, ive noticed that will make it worse as well. Sadly I didn't start playing until recently so I never got the chance to see the game working fine before and after an AMD driver update.
