I'm one of the devs behind OpenXcom, if you have any problems or questions, feel free to ask them here, we'll be watching.
So far, so good but steam overlay would be sweet ^^
I do it all the time. Check my posts on this forum if you need help. I made one on this subject a while ago.
To get the Steam overlay working, just enable an OpenGL Display Filter in the game options (Raw or Pixellate are good if you don't want any visual changes).
Do I install openxcom to the /XCom UFO Defense folder or the /XCom UFO Defense/XCOM - Folder where the gamedata is? Sorry for being a total noob!
Step 1 - Rename the original "dosbox.exe" to something else (Just keep it incase you want to go back to the original game)
Step 2 - Rename your "OpenXcom.exe" to "dosbox.exe" (Steam should now launch OpenXcom!)
Just one simple rename and you can bounce back to the original!
I think it's clear now :)
This is beyond awesome! It works perfectly now, thanks a million!! ^__^ +1000
