Most likely not directly, the developers are based in Hamburg, Germany but they might be one of the other studio Al Lowe worked with before he went with replaygames.

I did google it.
This game is written by a German called Falko Loeffler.

This brings up bad memories of when the Germans made Simon the Sorcerer 4 and 5,
and there was nothing of the original Simon vibes left in those games, even though they promised that the Woodroffes (original creators) would be involved.

So I wouldn't hold my breath for this one in terms of humor or understanding the source material.

Best case scenario, this will turn out decent.

No, Al Lowe is not involved in the production.

Exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks for the answer. It's pretty sad that he's not involved. No Larry in this for me.

Won't even bother asking about the voice actors.

I mean, how hard can it be to email Al Lowe and ask him to write the game? He is the Larry soul and he answers every email. Without him the game will not be a Larry game. Heck, the man will probably do it for free. I just don't get game developers sometimes.

Er, you seem not to have gotten the memo that Al Lowe retired (again) after the disaster that was Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded. He probably still doesn't want to touch Larry ever again.

It is not a reboot neither a remake, it is a complete new adventure with a complete new story and characters.

Then why in the world are you even bothering?

Because somone has to make a new LSL game, Al Lowe isn't gonna do it. He has stated he's done. So it's either other folks make a new LSL game or none at all.

No, they don't.

or none at all.

Probably the correct choice.

While it's true Al retired following everything that happened with Paul Trowe (links below), he would gladly do another Larry if the deal were right. I talked with him this past week about this. He found out about this game like everyone else. Feel free to email him if you want confirmation of this. He's a approachable and friendly guy.

Indeed he is. He even has my version of the Leisure Suit Larry theme on his music page. (Mine's the NES one.)

Sadly, I'm not at all surprised to hear he learned about the game the same way everyone else did. Why does nobody want him working on his own series?

Cool! I'll have to check that out.

It's really baffling this will be the third game Lowe wasn't been asked to help with. I've known him for years and volunteered on Reloaded. He's a pleasure to be around. The only reason I can imagine would be financial; but Al has always worked off royalties rather than collecting a check during production, so it wouldn't be like they would be paying out of pocket for him.

Whatever the case, it's pretty crappy no one from the development or publishing companies told him this was happening and doesn't sit well with me. Vivendi at least had the decency to approach Al during the production of MCL despite Al having nothing to do with it.

As mentioned, Al Lowe is not involved is the production but we do hope he will be satisfied with the final game and how we treated the Larry trademark.

C’mon, don’t bs us. If you cared what he thought you would have at least told him the game was in production before it was announced last week. You had plenty of opportunity to reach him. Like I said earlier, he’s an approachable and friendly guy. You guys didn’t bother.
