Hoping for turnbased multiplayer, but in the meantime....
.... here's a thing me and a friend wrote a few years ago that might help with that. Pen and paper because I don't do game dev anymore.

An issue with multiplayer is that unlike, say, BARIS when turns are 6 months long and a lot happens in the same turn, so it's fine to send a game state back and forth at the end of each, Mars Horizon is a lot more fine grained (I love that, just to clarify!) and so an asynchronous game might take quite a while.

I wonder if it's possible to let someone play as many turns as they can when there's no possible interaction between player agencies, and then mark the next turn with "Got to let the other person /s catch up before clicking next.

Or maybe I'm overcomplicating it and it's just a case of syncing game state after each turn between players and leave it at that. Maybe add a turn timer in that case.

Hi spiritplumber,
Mars Horizon is designed to be a single player experience and we don't have any plans to add multiplayer currently. Those are interesting approaches to how it would work. though Thanks for the link too, this will be great reading if it is something we are able to look into adding one day.

Would love a MP experience - it would be great for the STEM experience side of it getting schools/colleges to compete in a space race.
