SidAlpha's Video on the Key Revoking Situation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq4LK781auo

Update video on February 17th:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7K6XUF0k08

EDIT: just adding my info and thoughts on the matter.

My original key for the game came from Fanatical's Hidden Gems 7 bundle which I purchased back in April 2018. After receiving the "key revoked" message, I emailed Fanatical support. They got back to me and said the developer was taking care of it and if it didn't get resolved to contact them again.

I emailed the developer with a screenshot of the Hidden Gems 7 bundle order which clearly showed the now revoked key. Within a few minutes, I received a reply back with a replacement key for the game. This was in the late afternoon EST on February 14th. My email wasn't aggressive.

The developer is clearly not a native English speaker, so I could possibly see it being an accident if the developer interface on Steam doesn't support multiple languages, or at least the developer's native language.

I would say the issue is in part Steam/Valve's lack of development on the platform and their handoffs approach. Revoking keys that have been issued for an extended period of time shouldn't be as easy as a few mouse clicks. With Steam/Valve saying that once keys are revoked that they're gone for good, doesn't fly well with me. They'd still exist in the system, its just Steam/Valve hasn't put in the time to develop a more thought out system.

Agree that the matter of no payment from a key reseller shouldn't have been taken out on the customers. The developer should have pursued legal action for their missing payment.

As it stands now, the developer has removed the game from the accounts of legitimate customers. This would likely mean they are in violation of whatever contracts they have signed with stores like Fanatical, is anti-customer, and just illegal in general. Anyone who has purchased a copy of the game from a store/reseller where the developer issued keys to be sold or bundled is a legitimate owner of a digital copy the game.

Saw that too. I do not have that much to say on the matter. I don't want to bash the dev too much. As to keep it civil.
The sad thing is the game looks good. But I guess I will pass on it now.

The healthbar feels ugly and I feel like a redesign on the health visual might make it look better overall.

I saw that too, he's the one that got me here...........to be 100% honest with you all,
Im a sucker for this hero-boy/shots type of main character games,

but I'm conflicted over this,
I understand & can see why the dev did this but I also understand the angry reactions that came from his actions,

you should never involve your customers in a war that isn't theres to biggen with,

I'm not really sure if I want to buy this now.

It's actually really good. It's just on the short side, but it's one of the few retro indie games of this style that I've wanted to replay.

While i agree on this, revoking keys goes so much faster than waiting for a conclusion to a long lasting and maybe expensive trial. Afterall, the one who makes the game has every right on it, we don't know how big the damage was for not getting paid or if there were other bundle sites or resellers that didn't pay up. And if you don't get paid for something you created, i can see how that can anger one and lead to rash actions. I still don't think the dev is a "Dirty Dev" or belongs into that kind of category, this is more a case of a inexperienced dev with a language barrier.

Good that someone has the courage to address the topic. It will not be the last game that will get removed from our libraries. Sid has one more subscriber.
New Video from Sid incoming today!

So your finished sending keys or you mean waiting on more keys to send to some. I never did get my replacement key and I sent email. Mine was bought from fanatical.

How old are you? People reacted in this way because you asked for it with your actions. You created this whole situation, so act like adult and do something about it. Stop changing versions and denying your previous words with every new version of what happened. We're all humans and make mistakes, but admitting mistake, not denying it at all cost, is a the only way out from this mess.
This is only a steam, nobody died or was hurt, so this is not a tragedy or even a huge problem, seriously. Just take it right, apologize when situation requires that, and everyone will forget about whole thing within a week.

What did you expect to happen? The community just reacted to your actions and you deleted our discussions. If we are muted here, we voice ourselves somewhere else and bad news travel fast.
