[19-03-2019] PC Patch Notes for patch 1.0.280 (Patch #13)
We have just released the thirteenth PC patch for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, build 1.0.280. This patch focuses primarily on the release for the Nvidia’s Ray-Traced Shadows and DLSS.

This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client.

New features included in this patch:
  • Nvidia’s Ray-Traced Shadows
  • Support for DLSS.

The following requirements must be met to be able to run Ray-Traced Shadows or DLSS:
  • Window 10 update 1809 or higher
  • Nvidia’s RTX 20- series GPU
  • Nvidia’s latest drivers 419.35 and up.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version, we have made a Beta available on Steam, Build 279, that can be used to switch back to the previous version.

We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

Now they just have to remove outfit restrictions and I'll be happy :steamhappy:

it takes to much performance for such a little increase in shadow accuracy to justify the use, its good to finaly be able to try it out but its very disapointing what you get for losing about 40% of your FPS

There also seems to be an improvement to mgpu flickering - while the flickering is still present at scene transition, it seems to go away after a second or two (even with HBAO+ enabled), whereas before it would remain on some surfaces. Appreciate this fix guys - it's nice to be able to use HBAO+ again :)

just like expected, you trade in alot of performance and what you get back? washed out textures, the only difference i noticed is, in some places it is maybe a little darker then befor, but i couldnt find any other differences to befor.
What card do you have?

You don't have to use DLSS, and thus not get washed out textures.
anyways i wanna make Nixxes notice that in the link in the previous closed topic you forgot to do a space there :o and when clicked steam says that this link is blocked^^" hope ya fix that o3o also i would test the game, hopping ya fixed the random high pitched noise and optimized San Juan^^"

Finally! Was it so hard to tell us "something" was coming all these months after the initial PC Launch trailer promised it?
First ray tracing game with sli support!
Tried a little bit with 2080 ti sli and it works!
Also tried it on the laptop with a mobile 2070 and it also works great, but it push 8750H to 90 something degrees C. Anyway, happy to see the RT patch finally arrived.
All i have to say is it is about time. i turned both features on getting 60 fps 1920x1200 ultra there is some frame stutter maybe an nvidia driver update will solve this issue.
Ray tracing is a nice feature now but I think the best feature to come along in a long time to pc displays is HDR 1000 in games that support hdr like far cry 5 its out of world
Ray Tracing is so well optimized. I can run almost settings max out (Shadow Ray Trace = Ultra) except AA = TAA, DLSS = OFF with 1080p. My min FPS is 57 in paititi.
