[13-11-2018] PC Patch Notes for patch 1.0.237.6 (Patch #6)
We have just released the sixth PC patch for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, build 1.0.237.6. This patch focuses primarily on the first DLC release: The Forge.

This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client. If your game does not start properly after downloading this update, please verify the integrity of your Steam game files.

Hotfix
We have updated build 237.6 with fixes for the following issues:
  • Fix for crashes on start up reported by a number of users.
  • Fix for crashes reported by a number of users when accessing the side-missions screen.

Fixes included in this patch
  • New content added by purchasing “The Forge” DLC : The Echoes of the Past Side Mission, the Forge of Destiny Challenge Tomb, new skill, new outfits and new weapons.
  • Matchmaking & friend invite for the new cooperative gameplay functionality added with the Forge of Destiny Challenge Tomb.
  • New Achievements added for the new DLC content.
  • New game modes: Score Attack and Time Attack – Replay the challenge tombs you discovered in new challenging ways and get additional rewards.
  • You are now able to switch between different audio output settings. This reenables support for Dolby Atmos.
  • Many smaller stability and functionality fixes.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we have made a Beta available on Steam, Build 236.1, that can be used to switch back to the previous version.

We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

Basically everyone. Mostly when digging up caches or reading monolithes and murals. Sometimes taking directx 12 off helps, sometimes not

Are you turning on the HDR
Yeah, think that's the cause? I'll try without but I'm already annoyed there's no RTX yet, to lose HDR too would be frustrating

It's definitely "a" cause. I turned it off in Windows settings, and the game has been MUCH ore stable and i never get "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" anymore.

Try these workarounds:

Method 1:
Turn off "Xbox Configuration Support" in Steam's Controller settings. If the controller doesn't work turn off "Enable Steam Input" in Gamepad options in the game.
Run the game.

Method 2:
- turn on "Xbox Configuration Support" in Steam
- right-click on "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" in your games Library and select "Edit Steam Controller Configuration" (the controller must be turned on when right clicking on the game's title, otherwise this option will not be shown in drop down menu).
- in the next window click on "BROWSE CONFIGS" button below then click on the desired config and click on "APPLY CONFIGURATION" button below.
First try to apply cofigs from "Recommended" section. If it doesn't help try the ones in "Community" section.
Restart Steam after every configuration change before you run the game.
Don't forget to turn on "Enable Steam Input" in the game.

As last resort - reinstall Steam app.

It worked as a workaround for my PS4 controller. Now I'm waiting for a fix.

Yup, same here. Reading a monolith, a mural, or digging up a cache spot is a 50/50 chance to hard lock the game. Completely locked, have to taskman force close the task, and the only fix - because once a spot crashes, it will ALWAYS crash there, guaranteed - is to quit, disable DX12, load, read the monolith/etc, then quit and re-enable DX12 or else suffer horrific performance in hubs.

I'm tired of it, it's always the same crap with Nixxes and their "fixes" break more than they repair. Never again will I buy a title they're involved in.
Weirdly enough, I dug up like about 4 caches and read a few murals last night with no crashes! But now I can't get the boom in the cenote tomb to stay in place no matter what I do so idk wtf happened

If anyone from Nixxes would take the time, to look at this issue going on since Nov 13th, I've recorded proof of the game crashing when digging up caches and/or reading monoliths:

Game crashes when you try to dig up a Survival Cache. Every. Single. Time. I can't play a game if i have to avoid bugs. Waiting for patch.

Hoping that this problem will be solved as soon as possible!

The latest patch introduced nasty green glitches/artifacts for me. Latest Win10 build 17763.134, latest 18.11.1 AMD drivers, game 1.0.237.6., AMD RX 480 8GB, DX12. Happens only at certain areas (particularly Skull Cave as shown on the screenshot below), and randomly under feet when running. I haven't seen this mentioned here at all, so I guess this might be AMD-only related. Anyone else getting this? Still haven't completed the game and I'm putting it off until (hopefully) resolved, it kinda ruins the experience. It's very distracting and immersion breaking.
Pretty pretty please, can someone look into this?
Doesn't occur when running at native resolution, only when enabling Virtual Super Resolution in AMD Settings to allow 3840x2400 res downscaled to my native 1920x1200, which is the only setting that makes the game look crisp and sharp with no jaggies on my configuration. All AA options including SMAAx4 just blur the image. Played 60+ hours with VSR enabled with no issues at all, so something must have changed. I'd be super grateful if this is fixed. Here's the most obvious example:
https://images2.imgbox.com/1f/d4/oXZ31IHO_o.jpg

edit: no change with 18.11.2 drivers
I'll be happy to provide any logs if needed.
