Apparently the NEW upto date Nvidia drivers are causing issues... maybe it could be worth trying some older ones.
Curreny I am running v391.35 with ma res @ 5760x1080 and no dramas, perfectly stable 60FPS with VSYNC set to on
Edit: Possibly disabling exclusive full-screen and using just full-screen might help.
Yeah I'm getting this too without consistent reason. I slammed LOD to minimum and I honestly don't know what other settings are CPU intensive besides what it specifically notes. I get the spikes sometimes a few times in a minute, sometimes like 15 minutes, I didn't get the first one for a long while. I don't get them during cutscenes and never during any benchmarks.
Setting it to exclusive fullscroon DID seem to make it worse.
I haven't tried futzing with CPU priority but with how people were using BES on Yakuza 0 to make sure it wouldn't hit 100% usage, that might be a temporary workaround?
My CPU is definitely above minimum but it's not a powerhouse but I imagine this is something they'll iron out since I'm on DX11/Win 7 and apparently DX12 is very smooth which, likely, is a bigger part of their market.
Do you have your game installeed on SSD ? Do you have more than 8GB system RAM ?
Is your GPU cappable of the settings you are trying to run with the VRAM it has on it ?
What are you in game temps could it be thermal throtle ?
All this information is needed to help you troubleshoot and possibly fix
I'm running at high textures, medium shadows and aa off and getting good fps so i think im running it at what I'm capable of.
I don't have a ssd though.
My specs:
CPU: Amd Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: Gtx 970 4gb
Memory: 16gb ddr4
I have the stuttering problem as well. Very likely an early bug.
I restarted my system and set CPU priority to High for SOTTR.exe in Task Manager. Seems like that's helping for now. Might be a short-term fix until the game is patched in the next couple of days.
I maxed out the game's graphics settings on Ultra, which should be fine with my setup. At least, the FPS is very smooth, then suddenly stuttering.
