"Space Invaders Extreme" Steam FAQ
If you have any questions about Space Invaders Extreme, please ask them here and we'll do our best to answer!
Bugs go here!

Which version of Extreme is this?
It's a mix of the best parts of the previous SIE games rebuilt to work in enhanced visual and audio splendor on Steam. Edited for clarity.
Update: some waves/invader behaviour has been altered from the original game to improve the play experience.

Will the game work offline?
This game will only work online.

How do I play?
You can read up on how the game works here:
https://www.taito.com/steam/sie/help

What are the controls?
Controller: Steam and X-input (Xbox360, Xbox One) work best, but Direct Input (incl PS4) will work too. If controls are not working, go to Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings and set up your controller.
Keyboard: you can use keyboard controls too.
Mouse: works to control the menus, but not in-game.
Details: https://www.taito.com/steam/sie/help#Controls

How can I switch to windowed mode & change resolution?
In-game, pressing Alt+Enter will switch between full screen and windowed mode and you can adjust the window size in the latter.

I want the Steam version soundtrack!
It will be released on iTunes etc on 7th March. No plans for Steam right now.
We've added the track listing to the store page too.

Other Taito Games!?
Groove Coaster is coming soon!
Wishlist it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/744060/Groove_Coaster_for_Steam/

Is Groove Coaster also coming in February?
Also, will it have all the songs up to GC3EX?

About the title, yes(announced).
But I guess it will only contain the content of the initial game(which wss first published in ios and already ended survice)

I honestly doubt that the original would be released. I would imagine that it would either be a modified port of GC2 for ios or something new altogether.

And they were more like 1.0 , 2.0 etc rather than sequels

Just for a bit of clarification, Taito's newsletter says that GC is coming to Steam in Spring of 2018.

I really don't see that happening, but who knows

Has Touhou music too? (or has problems with copyrights?)

I also do wonder if there's going to be an arcade controller peripheral too

Do you guys have any 1440p monitors you could take screenshots with? I'm worried the image will look stretched on my monitor.
Looking forward to Monday!

What about Space Invaders Infinity Gene and Space Invaders Extreme 2

I'm surprised there's no mouse support for this game! It would be great if you could add in Mouse support or paddle support (like for Surface Dial) so that you can simulate the paddle controller from the DS version.

This would allow to have far more granular control for the ship. Balancing was done on the DS version as when you moved too fast with the paddle, your shots would go through the aliens so you couldn't just rock back and forth at full speed

Would something like that be possible as a later update maybe?

Are Taito planning to bring any other games over to Steam?
Also, releasing at 10 PM where I am... whyyyy :headstone:
