Announcement: Future Updates Status

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to make everyone aware of where we are currently at with our next updates.

The VR Overhaul update will be out very soon, likely end of next week if testing keeps going well. We have had to do this update to upgrade the VR functionality and compatibility with the latest technology and standards as the current implementation was designed around VR back in 2017 making it very limited in what it can do, especially with newer headsets and controllers. This has taken a lot of time as we have had to almost completely start over with the VR implementation.

With the VR update we can now upgrade to the latest versions of Unity which will mean we can add a lot new features into Phasmophobia for all players, especially significant graphical and performance updates. These features are necessary for updates such as Horror 2.0.

Very soon after the VR update we will release a small content update which will add a lot of replayability until the custom difficulty update is released which we have already started working on.

I would also be interested to know whether the patch notes are meant seriously or just a really bad April joke

IIRC some of them are legit sneak peeks are future content (the lighthouse is currently on the van corkboard and people spotted a church in the VR preview like how the campsite was hinted) while some are a joke.

No, they've said it won't happen. It's too hard to balance. The joke there is people like you asking for DbD but Phasmo.

Jokes on you cause we're into that shiz! But in all seriousness, funny April Fools patches have become cool additions to games in frequent years so seeing the patch notes definitely seemed like a fun "dumb" time. Especially in a game like Phasmophobia where it is trying to be scary, something dumb like the Poltergeist throwing players would've been amazing.

Really nice april fools joke, i had the game uninstalled for some space then reinstalled and i got pissed for a bit then laughed.
i actually love the game and i hope for some of the contents you made in the april fools joke
