I see somtimes some very annoying stuttering. i58600k & GTX 1070Ti & 16 GB Ram...
I had the same problem long ago in F1 2017 too...

I posted this in another thread it; it may help.

Go to documents\my games\F1 2018\hardwaresettings\. Open hardware_settings_comfig.xml in text editor and find texture_streaming sizeInMiB= and change value to 0. Then change concurrentTextureSwaps value to 0 as well. Save and start game.
The good news is this (at least for me) fixes the stuttering. The bad news is you're stuck with low rez textures on some objects.

In the settings try to set the max frame rate egal to your minitor capabilities and GSync ON and Auto. It worked for me with GTX 1080Ti

I am afraid there is no fix. This is happening since F1 2015. Codemasters don't know how to optimise their game for high-end GPUs. Previous titles were okay.

I feel like this is happening when cars leave the garage. I don't get the 1-sec lockups during the race, but I get them all the time in practise/quali.

I've had a few FPS drops throughout my career mode. Mostly 1 corner like turn 1 at Melbourne. Today I was do the Qualy program at Canada and got about 4 episodes throughout each lap. Each time it would slow down then speed up.
I'd done FP1 yesterday with no noticable problems. The only difference compared to today is I am down loading a few large files.
So I wondered about maybe trying offline mode and seeing if there is any difference or if anyone else has notice any relation to network activity.

I have them in turn 1 in Melbourne too.. right in the braking zone, almost every lap.

I got the game yesterday, so I don't really know where else it happens.. except I had it a lot in Baku in a time trial. Didn't play much more yet.

I was getting this with last years game too. Forgot why I stopped playing until I bought this one.

I got this fix from Codemasters support:

1. Turn on the game
2. Open Windows game bar (Windows button + G)
3. Make sure Game Mode is enabled for this game.
4. Restart the game and play.

Worked like clockwork on my PC.

Try changing from fullscreen to fullscreen (windowed) that worked for me

i too have the same problem.. game fps spikes and sometimes goes black screen and crashes.
Straight from the start of the game where you see the 5 red light.. they have very low fps too.. thats right at the beginning.
