(SPOILER) Question about making level objects in the editor
Say I have a map-type stage with several objects that can be transformed to levels with the "x is level" sentence, which can be formed in this level.
Then I also have the sentences "baba is select" and "baba is you"

The thing is, when I perform "baba is select" it can access the objects as levels even though they haven't been transformed to levels yet, is this how it's intended? I remember that in the main game you needed to transform the objects to levels before you could access them...

It can be done, but only in a very specific way. You have to set the special level type to 2, which means open, instead of hidden or normal.

After reading both posts, I am confused.

Wasn't "karlabos" asking about something else?

...or are the name values just unintuitive?

Unintuitive I guess? The only method to add levels in objects is to put special levels there, so they are the same thing.

Hidden, normal and open are the same thing as people have seen in the level editor. But special levels have an additional way of (temporary) unlocking - transformation. Hidden and normal special levels are unlocked upon transformation and are used in the main game. (More specifically, only hidden is used.) Open special levels can be accessed without any transformation.

That's so weird, though. I have all the level values of my special objects set to 0, so they shouldn't default to opened. But whern I do "baba is you/baba is select" they just act like they are opened without having to be transformed...

Well then I can only think of 1 possibility: your special level is connected to other levels and it has been unlocked by clearing the adjacent levels.

Oooh! That makes sense.
That's exactly it
