Game don't open in Windows 7
The title is self explanatory, the game doesn't open more after the last update. Maybe it's my OS is too old, but at the moment I can't change to Windows 10 or something like this.

Same here but on Windows 10. This Bug (idk) started today and now i cant Launch it via Steam. Ive tried to Reinstall it, Restart PC and Steam but to no avail. Forums on the Internet mentioned that you can run the Game via the EXE file in the Gamefolder.

After trying different things what seems to be working is to go to the EXE file (inside the main folder), Right cllick the EXE and tick the box "Launch as Adminitrator" or something like this. You'll find it under the Compatibility tab.

do you have windows 7 64-bit or 32-bit? iirc the game doesnt support 32-bit OS anymore. if thats the case, there is a legacy version that can still be downloaded from steam

edit: it looks like youve already played the game before, so idk what it could be man... but maybe my post will still help others

I tried launching as administrator, no success. And i'm aware the game don't support 32bits OS, but the legacy version works just fine here. And until the 1.2.1 update, the game was running here. I don't know what happened, but anyway, thanks for the help Zymun and doubloon :)

I have the same problem on Win7. When I try launching from the .exe it gives me an error message (it doesn't in steam and just closes silently)

The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-winrt-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

From my quick searches the other day, it's the VS 2019 redistributable. But the ones I have installed are 2015-2019, which are updated and should be the same as 2019?

Maybe the game doesn't trigger the installation of the new ones, but if they've been installed by another game, then the issue won't occur (since some people seem to have the issue problem and others don't)

edit: tried reinstalling the latest version (2015-1022) and then uninstalled/reinstalled and it still doesn't boot (same error message)

New update broke the game for me too, I'm also running on Win7. Legacy version still works though, so phew for that. Hope a fix can be done at some point as I would like to try out the new update.

I just installed it for the first time and it doesn't work. It is also Windows 7. How does one get legacy version?

Go to the properties tab, should have a menu "Betas". Just choose the Legacy version

Manually download api-ms-win-core-winrt-l1-1-0.dll (just google it) and place it in the game folder, and it will still work on Windows 7 x64

Doesn't work on Windows 10 either. Clicking Play doesn't do anything.

However this guy is on point, it is playable just by playing from the folder. Kinda jank right now. @Ansdor, we need a fix, mate.

It solves, but it's not desirable. Until there's a fix from Ansdor, I'll do this to play the game :/
