Here is a playthrough of the level. I restarted one time so you may want to skip to that.

And Elves is really the key as they double the Marketplace income.
I just went overboard with the inns and markets because why not
More than 1 marketplace is not required and doesn't add any value.
Place the marketplace in your closest corner (clear out the enemies first) as a corner is the furthest you can have a marketplace from anything. Then build up to 5 trading posts in the opposite corner. More than that and its too expensive.
- Place a guard tower next to the marketplace (so that the tax collector can drop it off there)
- Turn off tax from the trading posts
- Place guard house next to the trading posts for the rare Minotaur
- Upgrade your castle to maximum level
- Upgrade your Marketplace to maximum level.
- Build 1 Elven bungalow (more bungalows do not increase the marketplace reward rate)
You should be able to finish the level easily with the above, I completed it with 3 trading posts and had a maxed blacksmith, mage tower and library by the 37th day.
Each caravan will probably have around 1000 gold in it which triples once hitting the marketplace.
I wouldn't use market days at any time in any mission. I know it's "there" as an option but it hurts you in the long run. :)
LOL. :)
I'd make one slight adjustment to Smilie's improvements on the video. I personally do 3-4 trading posts relatively close to the market early on as the gold generated from these while I'm waiting for enough of the lairs to be cleared out before replacing them on the far side. This gives your economy a strong boost early-mid and the 4-5 trading posts on the opposite with a level market is a win in no time.
Did not know elves increased market income so that will help.
If you are not familiar with cheating the gambling hall, in slo-mo, do the things that need done, zoom to the gambling hall, right by the betting box, make a new bet, set to 1000 on gold, save. spin. reload till you win. make a new bet, save. Some saves seem to never win so try red once or do a slightly different save to bet on. Some of the games are tough even with bottomless cash and you don't usually get one right away. They can all be beat without. Kinda fun to have loads of gold.
Well I haven't got to the new hidden quest yet, this time around, but guessing it does not absolutely require lucky gambling.
