High CPU temperatures on csgo?
Hi everyone,

Has anyone else had high cpu temps while playing csgo, specifically on a 3570k? For some reason it peaks at around 80c with noticable noise coming from the cpu fan. This is very surprising because I just tried out several benchmarks and heavy games including Valley and the temps never went over 70c for the CPU also noting other source games like L4D2 did not have this issue.

I guess I could turn on Vsync to fix the issue but I absolutly hate it on First person shooters, and most games in general.

Would be interested to know if others have been having this issue on recent versions of the CSGO build.

thats a bit high is your cpu overclocked and wich cooler do you use?Don't know where you are from but temps are higher here to due to excessive summer heat but my cpu is watercooled.

Nah, it's not overclocked but like I said this doesnt happen on other games just csgo.

Granted here in the UK it is full on summer but I did test this in the early hours of the morning to.

The cooler is 1up from stock cooler, nothing fancy just a simple push pin design generally better than stock though I believe it's from akasa.

70*C is far too high as well. You may want to reinstall your CPU cooler with fresh thermal compound - or get a new one.

You need to see what is the optimal temperature of your cpu. Usually it's around 70ºC.
Clean it, drive on.

I'm pretty sure 70c max* is pretty normal from what I have read online of course bare in mind all cpu temps vary reading from an intel representative.

Thanks for the posts anyway guys, just seems odd this game is not very demanding and runs about 15 degrees hotter than other games.

I had temp issues untill i bought water cooling unit. Now everything is fine. Unit costed like one of better fan coolers. Its antec h2o 620, there is better but for the needs i have this is even too mutch. No matter what i do with the comp, temp is never ower 40-42 with 100% cpu usage

Water coolers definatly look cool but are not for me. I wouldnt want water anywhere near my system aha.

The temps I have seen online are very good though I usually get 30-40 on idle/non gaming tasks.

Clean out dust, exchange thermal paste, set fps_max to monitor refresh rate.

Owerheating can depend of 1000 things, i just gave you one of best solutions. The unit is factory sealed you get a pump connected with tubes to radiator and 2x 120mm fans. You got nothing to do or see any water lol.

This worked best for me as the weather here in italy in summer time is a computer killer, and i did not want to pay electric current 5 times more for air conditioning only so i can play games on non owerheated comp. Idle is 28-30. If you get idle 40 with this unit there is something wrong. I cant speak for others, i have bought and installed my self and i get good results for few years now.

Next comp i buy is going to have everything water cooled.

Yeah, watercooling is such a great way to improve your CPU temp. But, you should also check other things like air circulation inside your case, check if your dust filters are clean, all your fans are working correctly, etc.
I hope this can be helpful. Good luck.

Hey, thanks for the post. I cleaned out my dust filer and fans about a week ago I usually do so every 3-6 months

How do I check temps while in game?
