What is the best mouse setting?
what is the difference between mouse acceleration and raw mouse input?
wat happens when i disable raw mouse input?
the game feels not as responsive as when im playing other FPS games, its more like there is an slight delay, and after wards (when i move) it goes very fast.
i have disabled mouse acceleration, but what do you guys reckon is the best setting?

I looked into this when I started playing and found that a lot of people recommend the following:

Raw Input ON (this means you are using the mouse with no added enhancement)
Turn off mouse acceleration
Use a sensitivity between 1 and 3 ( but best to find a setting you like yourself)
Put windows mouse sensitivity at default or in the middle.


Not an expert, by any means, but I found these settings a good place to start and the. Just tweak til you get the feel you enjoy.

The delay you notice must be mouse acceleration. Turn off mouse acceleration and don't set your mouse too sensitive (The more sensitive, the less accurate your aim.)

this is a personal setting and there's no "best" setting for the mouse
about the mouse acceleration, this should be turned off, but the sensitivity is for you to decide.

Try turning of v-sync too.

Don't use mousefix

Turn off enhanced pointer precision in windows

enable raw input with the cvar m_rawinput 1
Disable v-sync with the cvar mat_vsync 0
set your dpi to something realistic like 400 or 450
set your in-game to something realistic like 1.4-1.8

If you still have accel it's because your mouse has accel in the sensor, aka a flawed sensor as they call it, there are VERY few gaming mice without any positive/negative accel


Minor positive accel isn't a big deal, but most mice have a lot of it and that's no good for an fps

Mice with no accel (these aren't all of them, just the ones that are confirmed/ I've seen tests/ I've tested myself)

I believe the steelseries sensei and the xai also don't have any accel, however I can't confirm

Mice with minor positive accel that I actually recommend is

Zowie EC1/EC2 eVo (difference between the two is that the ec2 is smaller in size) also you can't use a colored mousepad for these mice and I do NOT recommend a speed type mousepad w/ them, you'll have to get a high friction all black pad for this mouse. Also it doesn't have perfect control so no insane fast swipes or it will lose tracking, you should never be swiping that hard anyway so it shouldn't be a problem.

Someone already said this but make sure to turn off any form of V-sync in the video settings. I use 400 dpi on my mouse and found a universal sensitivity that I use across all Source games. A good deal of professional CS players use 400 dpi but really just use whatever you feel comfortable with.
