Will 4:3 and 5:4 resolutions become obsolete in CS2?
Hi everyone, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the use of stretched resolutions in CS2. As you may know, many pro players and casuals use 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions in CS:GO to get some advantages, such as making enemies appear wider and easier to hit, or boosting the framerate. However, these resolutions also have some drawbacks, such as reducing the field of view, distorting the screen, and affecting the mouse sensitivity.

I personally think that native resolutions are the best option for CS2, because they provide the best image quality and the most accurate hitboxes. According to some sources, CS2 has improved the hit detection system by using capsules instead of boxes for the hitboxes, and by implementing lag compensation to reduce the impact of latency. This means that using a stretched resolution will not give you any significant advantage over using a native one, and it may even harm your performance.

What do you think? Do you still use 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions in CS2? Why or why not? Do you think they will become obsolete as the game evolves? Let me know your opinions in the comments. Thanks for reading!

4:3 user on csgo, but cs2 is not playable for me on that resolution so i think i ll just play 16:9 :) maybe its gonna change in time... its so easy to 1 tap on that res everything so slow so

I will use low res 4:3 to keep my fps high.
Aside from that, I would play native if they added an fov slider.
In cs:go 4:3 gives you lower fov than 16:9, and the only way to change fov outside of that is to use sv_cheats commands.
