People blaming Valve and not cheaters for cheating issue are like people who blame the police for not catching a thief, but the thief must be a good guy I guess.
A sick community, what else to say...
UPD:
The heck I even remember here was a person on this forum who literally said he respects cheaters, but hates Valve for the cheating problem. Wind in the head.
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/9/
Or, like they usually say, Valve bans only legit players (them) but cheaters are not banned.
The same story for over a decade.
The same if donk will play in silver ranks for years his average stats will be >10KD, it won't be ~1KD or so. But I see it is something superhard for you to figure out.
I just had such a similar problem in Wingman since like 2022-2023 where I was deranking for 1 tie 1 loss and ranking up only after >10 win streak (I once had 19 wins in a row without ranking up once), but never had such an issue in 5v5 competitive, I was playing on gold novas in Wingman (after being global elite ever since the mode was added to the game) and was mostly winning my games
Did this thing happen to you too but in Competitive 5v5 or did you just not sweat for the rank or derank on purpose?
You didn't get ranked up in CS:GO if you lose more rounds than winning. Basically won and lost rounds is only thing that matters for ranks, not personal perfomance. This is the point, you could stay in low ranks no matter your KD and how much aces every match you do. And vice versa, a player can even be AFK the whole time, but if their team can afford winning 4v5, the AFK player will rank up with them.
I actually was LEM in 2015 (btw, csgo exchange service even tracked my LE rank somehow), in 2016 I stopped playing CS:GO (was tryharding), but then got back in 2017 and started playing with friends just for fun (and yes, there are also few derank matches in my match history you can see). Though my friends are mostly worse than me at the game, so usually I just was a top-fragger, but due to overall bad perfomance of the team we losed matches and so I didn't rank up and stayed in low ranks. Not like it was bad, we played just for fun, so losses didn't really matter for us.
The Wingman mode always was weird, I've seen people being GN in Competitive but GE in Wingman, though I didn't play the mode myself (tried few matches, didn't like it). So I don't have experience with WM rank system and can't say anything about it.
i disagree that both valve and government are doing a good enough job. To start Valve continues to profit with cheaters buying prime accounts multiple times and probably has financial deals with some cheating companies . USA and nato government continues to spend its money on wars that benefit the government and not its own people who they tax and are supposed to protect.
so i agree cheaters are bad but i disagree valve is doing enough. faceit would lose most of its players if valve actually had a decent anti cheat.
I'm not one of those who won't have anything against somebody who stabbed them (and yet somehow still have something against somebody who can't catch and punish somebody who stabbed them lol)
Honestly in this regard I like this guy kind of: https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/594009760474403817/#c594009760474406392
Like yes he's more often than not accusing everybody of cheating regardless of anything but he at least exhibits a healthy and adequate reaction to the situation:
1) Hates cheaters
2) Disappointed in Valve doing nothing (too little) about cheaters on their platform
3) Acknowledges the nature of the problem
And while his posts might just be trolling and he might not be serious about all this, opinions (in abstraction) that he expresses, at least here, are pretty healthy.
But its funny how people are so easily blamed for everything.
Climate change, must be peoples fault, lets tax them (Meanwhile interglacial periods have been a thing for millions of years, but its suddenly now "people" causing them.)
Or people eating at mcdonalds and eating ♥♥♥♥ for food, could you imagine a world where the FDA did its job and didnt allow companies to use chemicals (remember the poison is in the dose) and process the hell out of everything for max profit. You could get a real burger with some nutrition instead of the pink slime they serve now.
Even crime, as the rich get richer and the government not only allows it, but is being run by these same people, crime is going to go up as people get more desperate.
All kinda connected.
