increase DPI to 800-1200 for a more twitchy but accurate experience. The idea to the mouse is not to act like a gigantic analog stick that moves slow if we wanted that we would use controllers wouldnt we?

Old CS was twitchy as in wrist flicking head shot insanity so the idea is to try and replacte how you played back then if you have.

In my case its 3800 on the low side and 5600 on the high side witn and in game sens o 2.2 and 2.5 respectfully
don't know how to change DPI. Using a zowie gear fk1. Don't know how the dpi buttons on the right work. Only thing for changing my sensitivity of my mouse is the pointer speed option. It's the 5th from the last atm

Give me moment to research your mouse and i will have an answer. Most have a program to change it and save it to the memory on the mouse.

your mouse only has 4 pre selectable DPI

400 / 800 / 1600 / 3200 DPI adjustment

thats all its got.

lel this is pretty low sens, im useing 1000dp at 1.2 and its ok when i was using 0.9 i thought it is to slow so i rised it to the curren value

you need to lift your mouse in overall game, & lock it "with your wrist drop on mousepad" for long distance

Sensibility is a personnal preference, & change with aspect raztio of your ingame resolution, for 16:9 have a look @400dpi & 2.4 to 2.8 ig & around 2.0 with 4:3, also you need to try/perform a new sens'

do some test like, shoot some bullets at the same place on a wall, & try to move around keeping your crosshair at , nice way ti find your sens'

i have no problems to turn arround (40*40 mousepad) ;).
400dpi ->most pros use it with 1.8-2.2 sensitivity ingame, wich is to much for me.
that's why i started to use it too, after one day of getting into the dpi, it is just perfect :)

Pros may use low but we old CS-vets tend to be the twitchy buggers as 1.6 demanded you be fast and accurate. I miss the old twitchy days all my buddies use low DPI like you guys im always forced to up it when i play on their rigs.

as long as you can play good with it, there is no problem

Oh we do, were typically the guy looking like a ferat on steroids as we fly across the map at high speeds that is ingrained into us since 1.6 we just move like fast running rabbits.

My accuracy has gotten better since i came back into CS granted its no where near my 1.6 or Source skill so im still working the kinks out of my playstyle.

Dont feel stupid we all make mistakes were humans after all. Start with 800 and work your way up find which your mind and body enjoys most. For some its slow others like me its twitchy

but how u aim at long range, and what mouse u use coz 5600 dpi is so high

Logitech prodious mouse. Aiming long range is easy thanks to quake 3 and its rail-gun when lets just say you have a very tiny laser to hit a guy across the entire quake map and yeah it was a pain but worth it.

Thanks to that pegging guys off at range is rather simple because ive done it for so long the recoil is controlled via small mm movements of my wrist.
yach but how about Jittering at such a high dpi?

1khz polling rate ensures there is no jidder unless im the one causing (by moving) it with this mouse. 1khz= 1000hz. When i buy a mouse it has to be specific to similar ones ive used in the old days but today theyve gotten far better and more sensitive.

my current mouse settings, it appears i gotta bump the 5000 back to 5500 later cant remember why i changed it. and yeah 12000 DPI is way too high ive tried to master it its just way too micro mm adjustment uncontrollable.

Not sure how you guys are even able to make a full 180 without moving your entire arm before you're hit. for me its merely a simple 3mm flick of my wrist and im facing you in about a 1/4 second.

Old quake 3 UT player here speedy is my weapon.
grew up with it :) while you start off, you are a sponge to that ♥♥♥♥. i presume thats why many people with high sensitivities and accel use what they use, and why many people with low sens are wowed by that

understand u but still, with the low sens u dont need to be so precise like with high. for example when u have ur crosshair on the center of the head, on low sense when u move a little bit ur mouse u will still aim the head, when u move mouse with high sense u will make 180XD

In 1.6 days say you used a low DPI a player would kill you spin around kill your buddy and b-hop of into the distance in less than 3 seconds before you finshed your first 180 full arm movement.

That is how fast you had to react the second he showed up you've got less than a 1/4 second to aim and hit him before he hits you and runs off, plus you gotta deal with his team whom are just as fast.

Twitch shooting was different pre CS-GO
