This is sad. I think its the bad matchmaking. at least I was always thrown into silvers match vs gold novas while i alone was the only gold nova of our teams

Getting demoted VERY quickly?

I was promoted to nova master a few days ago, and the game following, I was demoted, it was a loss, but I was the highest score on the server. This happened again after being promoted to nova master today! I was top of server, lose the game, and it demotes me! What's up with that? Do nova masters get demoted after one mere loss (hardly)? Anyone else being demoted rapidly (after one or two games)?

That's happened to me too over the last week. One day I was a DMG (double ak) and then a day later I'm a 3 star, even though I've been top fragging most of the matches. I don't think it takes your score into account at all. It seems like it's based purely on wins and losses which I don't like because a few bad teams in a row will get you demoted.

I've lost 4 games straight on my Global Elite and haven't lost it.

K/D matters although it also takes into consideration the rank of your enemy team. If you lose to LOWER ranked players, higher kd is meaningless since you should have a higher kd anyway.

Well that sucks, they were all nova masters, we had an AK I but an unranked aswell, so, I don't know if that's considered unbalanced. Hopefully I'll just get promoted again.. :| tisk tisk VALVe

So yeah, got promoted, and one game later, 26-10, lost the game, and was demoted. I don't really think 26-10 is necessarily bad, considering they were all nova masters aswell...

Whatever bring on the demotions. The game gets easier and easier everytime I lose rank. Went from getting my ass kicked all the time to going 25-10.

when you keep playing and win against players with way lower elo ranking, you can wait a while for a promotion, while you'll get demoted very quickly if you lose against those.
but if you win against ppl with a way higher elo (k/d is just a small part of that factor btw), consider yourself promoted.

the matchmaking system has it's flaws, no doubt, but it's the best matchmaking system there is in any game that i can think of.

if you get demoted a few times and getting bored of too easy matches, wait until a sale goes on and let yourself get smurfed by people even more bored than you. (you gotta be really bored to buy this game again on a new account to pick on lowbies...)

The higher your rank becomes, the faster you are levelling up or down. It depends on how you play. If you win agains people with higher ranks than your team has, you will be levelled up. If you loose against a team with lower skillgroups than those of your team, you will loose your rank. It's because the system gives a forecast that will say if you are supposed to win or loose.
