Hmm, whats interesting to me, is you are right, only because valve is keeping this a trade secret. Even in china, where they are forced to show probability's, I still dont think were getting the full story.
There is more going on here than just random chance.
I remember years ago, this was prolly around the time they put hats into tf2. Reading an article by valve where gabe talks about rewarding the "good" players of the community. Put this in context with the hats and its obvious to me....
People who get more commends, who have more friends, who talk alot to many people, will have their chances higher of getting better drops and unboxing something good is the vibe I was given by his talk. This will reward the good players and keep them in the game.
My problem has always been though, what is a "good" player to valve. Id love to see their metrics.
Much of the cheating, the trolling, the hate, is all brought on by valves design principles imo.
Do I have any proof no, but I got a gut feeling about all this. I think if society wasnt so broken, valve would be investigated for it and the gambling sites they allow to flourish with this game.
-edit-
I know what constitutes a "good"player.
Its not the hours you put into the game, its not the age of your account, its not about your conduct score.
Its about how much money you spend, and I think this is why ranks are completely messed up, and why valve will never fix it because it would be like pulling at a loose thread on a piece of clothing.
you might want to do F.A.T.E like keeping chinese people ,,... soon theyre all chickens ,,... it is ROT ,,... and there are rules to them ,,... typical life savers
BUT!, when we talk 3000 cases before a knife drop, then the difference’s, between me <- (A normal Joe), and a big streamer; becomes kind of obvious dont it?
This is why i made this thread. If i am not alone in this experience, if there are other people out there with the same experience as me, then we are actually talking about (foul-play), and THAT, is my business, and everyone else’s business that is spending money on these cases.
If i am alone in this, then i am probably the most unlucky person in the whole cs2 community. And it does not help that i got my first knife on case number 5 either, around 15 years ago.. and then i would not see another knife before i had bought 3000 cases/keys. Something feels very fishy about all of this.
Most casino's, gambling websites, etc, do use fake wins, house money, and other predatory "advertisement" methods. If they gave a streamer a knife when he was gambling, it could be seen as a advertisement fee from the company end.
you just got unlucky lol, understand the concept of unboxing
Yeah but there's no such thing as your luck piling up the more cases you open. Try to come to terms with this situation.
Also, gambling has blinded you so much that with the $10K+ you've spent on cases and capsules, you could have directly bought the top-tier items. That's insane.
If you wanted to gamble this much, you could have at least played roulette or something, lol. Not a gambling game with a 1 in 400 chance of getting a rare special item.
