Thoughts about CS:GO using DirectX 12
READ BEFORE ATTACKING OR JUDGING ME

do you think CS:GO should use DirectX 12? How do you feel if someday CS:GO announces that they will add support for DirectX 12?

ik ik, fps matters and i'm not necessarily talking about Advanced path/ray tracing features, just that DirectX 12 is way more efficient and faster than the previous DirectX versions.

So what do you think? let's hear your thoughts

source 2 needed first
Sure .. up to date with the hardware is allways best for the performances :steamhappy:

Not to mention that you can put more details into the graphics .. but as developer you would need to have the old direcx open for older systems, but make it optimum to use dx12 or newer ..

sure

just a snap of the fingers

maybe do some research?

Today, developers using DirectX 12 can build games that have better graphics, run faster and that are more stable than ever before. Many games now run on the latest version of microsofts groundbreaking dx12 API and is confident that even more anticipated, high-end AAA titles will take advantage of DirectX 12 in the future.

DirectX 12 is ideal for powering the games that run on PC and Xbox, which is the most powerful console on the market. DirectX 12 is perfectly suited for native 4K games on both pc´s and console´s .

So maybe Valve should take advantage of this and update their source engine to use the new dx12 api ?

a rewrite of the code to use dx12 or source 2 or any newer engine would completely change game dynamics

it was also stated somewhere that one of the struggles with a rewrite is all of the existing content what would need to be ported because most would be very upset of all of their skins didn't make it over to the new version
Damn... almost never thought about skins.. yeah that would make a huge backlash from players, but hell would that be bad? better optimized better looking game with way more efficiency and the same or even improved fps

it has been suggested by others that a new version of CS might be a better solution

but if it became popular it might end up harming the csgo market so i dont see valve doing that
that's reasonable
directx 9 was allready outdated back in 2006 :steamfacepalm:

laziness and lack of knowledge ?
