how does the steam market work?
I want to buy 20 danger zone cases
I added my buy order ~2 weeks ago and today for the first time bought 4 cases of them
Since I had a long waiting time before buying I thought (and that would make sense to me) that for buying (and selling) there is one long queque per price so that you wait till it's your turn and then buy the stuff
that doesn't seem to be the case since I just saw some cases being sold for my price while not buying any myself

so: do you know which mechanic is used to select a buyer for a new case with the target price? Is it random lottery? Is it some modified kind of queque?

The highest and newest order to buy is the first one to buy, I guess.
If you've bought only four cases, then your buy order must be about 0.06€ or 0.07€, which is slightly under the current price tag, so, naturally it's gonna take forever.

Do increase it by 0.01€ per each, and I can guarantee you, you'd buy them fast.

i do know of course that I buy faster if I increase the buy price
but I don't want to do that
my order is 0.06€ and that price is reached quite often regarding the graph
which sense would it make to have the newest order served first when there are many people waiting for a longer time?

Those people won't even get to buy it.
People will never go ahead and start selling it only to receive one cent per a case..

>I want to buy at this silly low price.
>why isn't anyone selling to me?

This is a 9/10 post.

people with currencies like rubble can buy at 6.01 cent or 5.99 cent (roughly)
that is why it is confusing you.

you can get a better view in other currencies with extensions like "better buy orders" that allow you to switch currency view..

you mean that if someone sells for some other currency which exchanges for 0.06€ it might not sell for that price because the actual price would be a little less than 0,06€?

I am not sure what you are saying but yes the simple answer is currency.
your 6 cent is not the same in all currencies.

not really an exchange thing but a 0.01 or 0.001 thing.
