Warning of Bitskins Scam
I recently wanted to get out of csgo and decided to sell my inventory on bitskins. I had used the site in the past and had already done about $2,000 worth of transactions on the site (I know the site is under new ownership, but I could not find a lot of complaints so I gave it a try). I listed around $2,000 worth of items roughly five days ago. The most expensive item was my vice sport gloves (field tested .15 float). I listed these gloves at around $1,500.00 and waited for them to sell with the rest of my inventory. Most of my other items were selling and I was able to extract the funds to my bitcoin account so I thought everything was fine. Then, I logged onto my account yesterday and saw that my gloves were gone, I had received no money so I checked the item history. According to the item history, the gloves were delisted and returned back to me. I immediately contacted bitskins explaining my situation and giving them the item id and the bot name I traded it to. On a side note, there is no way that a third party took the item. I have mobile authentication for both my steam and bitskins account, and I get notified if someone logs on. Additionally, The bot was not a third party that did not belong to bitskins, I triple checked and bitskins confirmed it was their bot. Bitskins replied to my situation with a short email reading "We received info from steam that you received the item and it's not in our inventory". That is literally all they said, of course I followed up several times and have yet to get a response (and probably will not). Their response makes no sense to me because there is no way I have the item. I listed it five-six days ago which means the trade ban is not lifted. I checked the bots inventory and the gloves are not there, does anyone have an explanation for that? My only other question to you guys is, HOW TF do you contact steam about this? I recognize they will not make another item for me (according to others online) but seriously, their website is setup so the last thing you do is contact them. Does anyone know a phone number or email address?

Them delisting items is happening a lot because of new owner ship. someone probably bought them out and is starting to scam people.
what happened to you only happens to people with Compromised Steam Account ID's. your trade history shows who the gloves were redirected to. a scammer/fake bot etc. who has your creds now and is full control of your account until you reset everything.

Does not make sense to me for reasons stated above, they confirmed the bot was theirs and my trade history shows nothing else. The full control of account comment also sounds a little paranoid since they need my mobile authentication.
think someone had something similar (tho item wasnt as expensive)

not sure if it was sold outside of steam or on marketplace, they had no proof of where the item went, it just vanished

turned out the item sold and there was a 24hr+ delay of showing that it had sold

thats your only real hope, that the system delayed and delisted turns out to be an error due to the delay
Bitskins has problems atm. Some people have reported same problem like you. Item just vanishes. Bitskins has no clue, user has no clue. Steam has to explain these things.

Thanks for more of the information, do you happen to know how to contact steam in their support page? I can not figure out how to create a ticket.

Steam support will not assist with you using a 3rd party skin site not affiliated with Valve at all.

It is always, use at your own risk.

Support can't help. All it will do is make the line longer for everyone and waste supports time.

:qr:
when you gift skins via a trade, even to a well known legit high volume site, you lose all ownership of the item(s). that is just the way it is and has been for years now.

you have to go through Bitskins support now if you think you're a victim of fraud.

you can only report the Bitskins(or whatever) bot to Valve.
