SkinSplash Scam Watch Out
I just got recently scammned of $14 of skins, but this is an overall important issue. Yes it might be only $14 dollars, but here is what the scam looks like:
The scammer spams you with messages asking if you are online. Then he continues to say that he is unable to withdraw from a skin site because his mobile authenticator isn't working. I was stupid at the time and didn't realize that mobile authenticator is not necessary for accepting trades. Then a link is sent to a skin site that looks legit with support bots and live chat feed. He then proceeds to send a youtube link with a video about how legit the site is. The scammer will give you virtual credits to withdraw some expensive item, but in order to do so you will have to deposit your own skins. This is how I got scammed because I wasn't aware of this type. The site in particular is SkinSplash and the scammer's steam profile name at the moment is: no man no sky. Please spread awareness so that nobody else gets scammed.

How come you get scammed by a popular method?
Why did you click "Yes, this is a gift" as well?
This actually is not a scam, you just gave them away.

I got scammed by a popular method because I wasn't previously aware of this method and was too stupid to figure it out myself.

It's a really really common scam, never go to a site you've not heard of before.

Edit: they send a YouTube video because their own site will get blocked by steam filters.

It doesn't matter what the scam looks like. It is nearly 2019. If you still believe that someone or something will offer you something for nothing, then you deserve whatever ride you are about to be taken on.
