CS:GO Lobby Spam Bots (And what to do about them). :: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive General Discussions

There is no evidence about who is behind these recent attacks on the CSGO lobbies, but one thing we know is that these idiots are trying to get Valve's attention. They are desperately trying to convince users to quit playing CSGO for at least a day, to show Valve that we want the game fixed. They will often change their ranks too, so they can basically join anyone they want. EDIT: There are more accounts flooding the lobbies now, and some are even advertsing certain websites. DO NOT CLICK ON THE WEBSITES, THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!

ATTENTION MODS! This is not naming and shaming, as these accounts are currently harrassing players and are preventing them from using the Public Lobby system without being spammed. Please private message me or post a comment and I'll happily remove the URLs.

I am providing links to as many hackers as I can find. And before you report for naming and shaming, I have screenshots, and MANY other players have done the same thing. The URLs are taken straight from CSGO, so these are not impersonators.

This is all I know so far, so if you have any screenshots of any more bots, please post them here.

My theory of how they get the accounts:
I call this "The Zombie Theory". Basically, hacker(s) took over a few Steam accounts, then added links as their Steam names. Then people will see those links, click on them, then possibly get their account stolen/hijacked by a trojan virus. DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS MADE BY THEM!

MY SOLUTION:
Step 1: Be VERY careful in these lobbies, as many people on Reddit have reported getting viruses from the hackers. Make sure you don't use public lobbies, or do so at your own risk. If you still want to do it, make sure your virus protection is up-to-date and move on to step 2. This is the Reddit post about the hacker's viruses.

Step 2: Turn off "allow friends and nearby players". Make it friends only, or invite only, so these hackers cannot access the game. I've been getting reports that this doesn't work, so keep on trying. If it doesn't work, then use a third party matchmaker like FaceIt, ESEA or CEVO, or just solo queue in regular matchmaking.

Step 3: Report any hackers you see. Use my URLs above, or open your lobby for a few secs and a few hackers should appear. Report them, and send a link to the screenshots in the report message. If you still see them, try blocking them. If none of the above work, then try completly restarting Steam, then it should work. NEW SOLUTION: Try appearing offline, as a few people have said this works for them, but this needs testing. Please attempt this is you can. Thank you.

Step 4: Share this thread with other users that need this advice and info.

And most inportantly: Do not quit playing CSGO today. They are essentually online rioting to push their own ideas or solutions to the people higher up the chain, and they want people to quit playing for today and possibly other days too. Do NOT help them.

Valve needs to stop them. They CLEARLY said that they are working on improving VAC using "machine learining" technology or something like that, AND IT TAKES TIME. Those russians are disgusting: they make the problem WORSE. I'd rather play MM against cheaters than not play MM at all, at most solo-queue. I honestly hope that, if Valve doesnt do ♥♥♥♥ against these ♥♥♥♥♥, it will be over in 1 day. Go report them and get Valve's attention. ATM, the best Valve can do is ban these sacks of rotten ♥♥♥♥.

Instead of #fixcsgo being about improving VAC, it should be about REMOVING RUSSIAN ACCESS TO CSGO.

i had been trying to que with friends i had 2 people lobby they joined a 3 people lobby they joined but then 4 people lobby they didnt and now i am in a comp :)

Restarting the game helped for me, idk why
