How to slow down leveling?
Hello! I know the question might sound weird to some of you, but I'm just the type of girl who likes to take things slowly. I level much too fast for my pace in Skyrim and I wonder if there are any mods or console commands that would slow down my leveling speed?

Thanks in advance for help :)

You level up quickly at start as you progress through the game (I think you may require that at first). Then your leveling speed to gain next takes longer. Once over say level 20, 30, 40 then 50 it take a long time to the next level(Vanilla)(getting longer each time), mods can change that if you want.

I consider myself more of a tortoise than a hare as well. Seeing and doing everything possible is more important to me than getting to the end of the game first...I still haven't finished the game and I got it on the 11/11/11 release date.

I don't know of any experience killing mods but you could accomplish the same thing by not taking on/finishing questlines, not killing things (especially really big ones) or going to prison on a fairly regular basis. That oughta slow things up a bit for you?

I use level-slowing mods all the time in Fallout games, but in Skyrim the leveling speed seems to be about right for my tastes. Perhaps a bit slower in the beginning, as it does seem like you're level 20 before you know it. But then it slows down to a reasonable pace.

In any case, there are mods that slow down the leveling. Here's another one: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24422

don't use any worship shrines, use unenchanted weapons and armor, use no magic but most of all do not use your perks to level up a skill, you are the dragonborn - you play by your rules. you don't need any mods to slow down, just level up and use no perks until you are ready to level up skills you need as you level up

Hmm, there was a very handy module in a mod called "ACE - Combat skills" that let you change your levelling rates on the fly through an in-game menu. Just browse to the files section[skyrim.nexusmods.com] and scroll down near the bottom; it's called the "BYOG - Balance your own game" module. It's completely independent from the rest of the mod so you can very well use it on its own!

These days, though, I use SkyRe (Skyrim Redone)[skyrim.nexusmods.com], which has its own levelling rates. It changes the game in a big way too, but a good way (in my opinion) and you might want to try it out...

What, like playing on a console? ♥♥♥♥ that. You even say it yourself: "you play by your rules" - Well, she wants her rules to be slower levelling and there are mods for that. With the freedom inherent in the game's design, the console commands and the extreme moddability, the Elder Scrolls is just about the best series to make our own rules and changing the levelling speed is a pretty common adjustment to make wtihout having to gimp our own play to achieve it.
