Azura's Star...Black Star

I have completed finding Azura's star and delivered it to some person (can't remember who) but my soul has been "trapped" into that star and now I have to defeat this person. The problem is, there are three devils trying to attack me but it's really hard to defeat them because they keep shooting fireballs at me. Any ideas how to defeat them in a different way?? :)

Change the difficulty of the game, thats probably the best thing to do

If you thought ahead and made a save just before you entered the Star, leave the quest alone for a while and go get yourself some fire resistance (preferably 40% boots and a decent potion (20% or higher) as a minimum). Then, when you do that bit over, go slowly and kill the Dremora one by one (their hearts are nice to get if you're going down the Heavy path of Smithing since you need them for Daedric armor). Don't just blindly chase after your target - he'll be waiting at the end of the level for you.

yea this is actually a tricky one on a high difficulty setting, ended up killing myself plenty of times by falling of the path there lolz. ....best attempt is long distance attacks. Other then that i guess u would have to try and get one at a time and lure him towarss urself. then get close using whirlwind sprint or force push to get them staggered and get close to them for the kill.

This was a hard one for me. I just ran past the devils, quickly killed malyn and exited the place. Had to lower the difficulty aswell.

Congrats. How did you finally manage to do it? A change in tactic, following someone's advice from the thread or your own, or just quick loading over and over and over and over and over until you finally managed to get through? :)

Thank you, well actually i just ran and took out my greatsword of cold and just attacked one of the devil's and then found that person (can't remember who, sorry) i was going to defeat then just keep attacking and then i took his staff of "thing" ( forgot what staff it is) then run ran until the person returned my soul back. Sorry if this is all unclear. By the way the greatsword of cold has magic in it. :)

I sprinted through the Daedra and just went straight after him lol. If you kill him you will escape regardless of whether or not they are alive.

Well for me I ended up using this little side path where there was a partially obstructed view of them that could block the fireball and allow me to fire arrows back to whittle them down.

One thing you could do if its only the spells giving you trouble is to get Spell Breaker (shield) before doing purging the crystal.

Actually kind of sad there aren't that many deadra in Skyrim.
No saints or seducers
No deadroth
No Winged Twilights
No clanfer
No Valkymerz (those kind of purplish small giants that look sort of like dremora)
No spider deadra

well, the saints and seducers are the guards of the shivering isles, so unless you summoned them in Oblivion they wouldn't leave. And you have to remember, the gates of Oblivion are sealed forever, so it is more difficult for them to leave oblivion in the first place.

Fire resistance [Spells/potions] , Healing over time potions. Paralize [Spell left hand] and 1Handed weapon. This combo can be nice just dodge as many fireballs as possible., that helps a lot too.
