FNIS - anyone use it? i need some help
Like title says
im kinda stuck using it. I downloaded the main file but when i try to double click on GeneratineFNISforUsers i just get this message

To run this application you must first install 1 of the following .NET frameworks
V4.0.30319

so i cant even get it to run? what am i doing wrong here?

Never heard of that with fnis. Try doing a windows update. Are you using win7 or win8?

i will try a windows update and see what happens.
Im trying to install a pose mod basically

not used fnis myself before so am a little scared its gona break the game

It just requires Net Framework 4.0 to run, as it says in the readme.

will just updating my windows do this as ive already set it to update?

Also i have not used FNIS before. The mod i want to use for the various poses just tells me i need to turn GneratorFNISforUsers on and then click Update

has anyone used this program and this mod before? is it just a case of me opening fnis, pressing update and closing?
No. Net Framework needs to be downloaded seperately. Once installed, updates for it will come through Windows Update.

As far as FNIS, there's a step by step installation guide here[skyrim.nexusmods.com]. It's pretty simple to use, but you need to remember to run the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe any time you change animation mods or you'll end up running around Skyrim frozen in a 'T' shape :)

You just need to run the program GenerateFNISforUsers, then click 'Update FNIS Behaviour' and it does its thing. Then the mods that use FNIS will work correctly. Remember to always run GenerateFNISforUsers whenever installing a new mod that uses idles/animations or they might mess up/conflict. The program will usually warn of any conflicts. And as Kitteh says there (ninja'd), you'll run round without any animations if you don't update this.

well i dont plan to install anymore animation mods now. I just wanted to use this 1 i linked already as that has loads in

So should i just need to do this FNIS things the once then? or do i need to do it EVERYTIME i load up skyrim?

so this shouldnt completely crap up my game then? ive heard some bad things about fnis and the mod i wanted to install tells me i NEED it or else i wont be able to do any poses

Once I realised how important running the Generator is, I've had no problems.

If you don't know how to install mods, don't use them, or read the readme that comes with the mod.

thanks guys it helped a lot
the mods working now but obviously i need to test it out more. I mainly wanted it for certain poses in helping with the guide im working on but now i might just add the mod itself and give you guys a mention for helping me out with the problem
hmmmm

i seem to have a problem with this mod

When i use the pose thing thats all ok - however once im done with it i find the only way to not pose is to JUMP

but then once im done i can no longer draw my weapon or attack or run. yet oddly all the other buttons seem to work ok

any ideas what this problem might be?

Some of the mods can be a bit glitchy. Not a lot that can be done about that I don't think. Seems to take a moment for the scripts to settle after coming out of some animations, or something. :D

Oh, and some of the more 'saucy' animation mods can really cause problems. Just the nature of the beast unfortunately.

I have been messing with the mod more and have found it only seems to cause the problem were the character can no longer run OR draw there sword etc IF i use a pose animation that requires my weapon

If i do a normal pose then i can just jump and everything is fine

However if i do a pose animation with a weapon drawn and use a weapon pose animation then i can no longer draw my weapons anymore OR run...yet i can seem to do everything else?....
