Do they ever pick a new High King?

I can't find anything out on whether there is something (quest, mod, dlc) to choose the new High King.

If you complete the Civil War questline by siding with the Stormcloaks, then Ulfric will become the High King with Elisif just following along, but if you side with the Imperials in the war, then I don't believe you ever see a new High King.

technically you don't see one even with the stormcloak quest line. Ulfric specifically says that the moot has to vote and he believes he will be the new high king, but there is no quest to finish that off and find out for sure. I'm not sure if there is a mod to do this though.

Pity there was no DLC planned to change that, eh? It would be called 'Kingfire', and you could go around telling everyone that Ulfric Stormcloak is the High King and help everyone in Skyrim put arrows in their knees as Ulfric's steward.

But if you wanted to rule the land instead, you would have to become thane of all the holds, win the civil war for the Imperials, and then marry Jarl Elisif... of course, then you would be given the delightful task of filin' taxes and sitting on your throne for hours every day, looking like you're contemplating whether or not you need to go to the lavatory (or Skyrim's equivalent of one, anyway).

It's very frustrating - I've killed General Tullius over two dozen times, and Ulfric never becomes High King. Seriously though - it would have been nice if your choice (either Ulfric or Elisif) were to become High King, but I don't know if there's any mod or future dlc that will help with this.

Likely it's just as well the game doesn't - I imagine in the next installment of Elder Scrolls, it'll turn out that it won't have mattered which side you choose because the Dragonborn ends up being proclaimed High King, conquers the rest of the Empire, and finally takes the fight to the Thalmor (maybe this will be the focus of the new game itself, or maybe just a historical footnote in some book you can find in the game a couple hundred years after the Dragonborn kicks the Thalmors' collective butts).

If this indeed turns out to be the case, then making either Elisif or Ulfric High King screws up the future story arc, which would explain why this doesn't happen in the game. Of course, this is all pure speculation, and may be totally wrong - but it would be cool if the Dragonborn did become High King!

You could make a mod where you have your own Dragonborn army and attack both sides. Taking over cities and declaring yourself King or God or whatever you want

what irritate's me so badly is that you cant form a splinter faction in skyrim and become high king yourself. it would be awsome. the dragonborn is technically a walking armegedon and even the thalmor's strongest battlemages couldnt bring him down. dragon's of legend fell to the dragonborn and by the end of the vanilla game, he would be a thane in every hold and leader of every guild faction.

the point is that the dragonborn should hold immense influence by the end of the vanilla game and it wouldnt be too far fetched to assume that he could overthrow both faction's and rule skyrim independently. form alliance's with the empire or other factions in the current world. rebuild the fort's of skyrim and build your own grand palace, ECT.

If you look at the TES MMO it is said there was a moot and a nord was chosen. Truthfully, I know exactly how the DLC would go to start to finish. Not just High King, but King of Tamriel. A new Bloodline. Take down the Thalmor and continue to Cyrodil and become the King of Cyrodil and take away the land from the High Elves. :D

AlexVan: Sounds good to me! However, after all was said and done, my Nord Dragonborn Emperor would return and rule from Skyrim instead of Cyrodiil (maybe making Falkreath or Whiterun the new capital of the Empire) - seems to me that having the Emperor living in Cyrodiil makes for a weak Empire.

Actually if you scroll down on this page there is a specific section that asks when the mmo takes place and it says 1000 years before Skyrim so this isn't the the moot from skyrim, this is entirely different. http://www.ign.com/wikis/elder-scrolls-online

except the events of the MMO are in the second era where as the events of skyrim are in the 4th era... so idk how the MMO has any relation to skyrim's civil war.

I like the game leaves it open. In therms of gameplay that wouldn't be really exciting, as already mentioned. So you can use a special modding tool called IMAGINATION to figure out how it goes.

I have a dragonborn that sided with the imperials and also saved the world. Uriel septim was a dragon born too. I've killed all talmor in solitude, with a mod i married elisif. that char has a lot of connections, even with thieves and dark brotherhood. The emperor is dead. He has collected 3.000.000 septims and has at least equal in assets. I can imagine he would try to make up an army an march over cyrodill to clear it from talmors, but that char is over (now he has to sit in the blue palace all day long), and started other stories.

Hii People! I know that this is an old thread but I am seriously having problems with finding ulfric and elisif after I killed general tullius. I dont care If someone becomes The high King, I just wondered where The are... They are not in windhelm (palace of kings) and neither are They in solitude (blue temple) does someone know where ulfric is after the liberation of skyrim?
