What MOD?
Doink Ahanahue Dec 28, 2012 @ 10:15pm
any mod

What do you mean "click on the data files"? please be more specific. typically, MODS are in 7z or RAR formant...

When I enter skyrim from steam with mods at the bottom right corner where it says syncronizing all it takes is 1 mod for it to say the ckm thing. I use rar format. At first I had 30 mods. Reinstalled and it wasnt working with even 1 mod.

Ah... What happens if you unsubscribe from them all, but DO NOT deactive the mods?
Doink Ahanahue Dec 28, 2012 @ 10:27pm
Then I can click on the data files folder and it wont crash. But as far as I knew subscribing was downloading the mods and unsubscribing was deleting.
Also thanks for being the only one to help me out

I dont remember, I havent subscribed to mods on STEAM for a long time. but I dont think unsubscribing deletes them... "Unsubscribing a mod means you will no longer receive updates". You can see if it is deleted (or not) by loading the game via Skyrim Launcher under DATA FILES. Make sure the box next to the mod you want to play is checked. Please let me know.

Subscribing to me, is downloading a MOD you dont have, and for the one you do, checking those to see if there are any updates, if no, no download, if so, download latest update... see the difference?

your welcome...

Found this in the help forum... you might want to write this down... the same thing was happening to another member... issue; "failed to extract archive from ckm file". Let me know.. :)

Exit Steam by going to Steam->Exit at the top left of the client, then log into the Steam community using a browser. Unsubscribe from ALL of your Skyrim mods in the workshop while logged into the browser.

Then follow these Steam support instructions -> How to Remove and Refresh your Steam Files

See if that fixes the issue.

Also, if you havn't already done so, right click on the game in your Steam library, select properties from the dropdown list and in the Local Files tab, select 'Verify integrity of game cache.'

There is nothing under data files and when there sould be it crashes before I can get to it.
Specifically I just clicked on it and watched it check the mod (drakians mod) and then it says the ckm thing then stops working. It says downloading mod so I have no idea

Do you have a legit copy of Skyrim? Maybe this is some sort of anti-piracy thing???
Euther Pendragon Dec 28, 2012 @ 10:52pm
Ya know... you can always search Skyrim Nexus (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/) for the MOD. and manually install it or use the Mod Manager to automatically do it. No CHM files to deal with.

That is what I do... :)
Doink Ahanahue Dec 28, 2012 @ 11:01pm
Its legit and I always did use the nexus but I thougt it would be different with steam. I'll try it out. thanks

Cant stand steam for MOD, Steam does not support BSA delivered mod installations... those make uninstalling MODs very simple...
