About vampirism and hostile npc's
I can understand them attacking me in Vampire lord form, but since after the 2nd or 3rd day they attack on sight, it kinda makes the lord form redundant in my opinion. Is there a way or a mod that could stop people attacking me in my human form when I have gone a couple of days without feeding? I mean, being a vampire is awesome, but I like to be able to do some quests without having to wait 3 or 4 times 24 hours to keep playing as a human vampire :). I mean, it would be nice if there was a choice at the player level to have hostile npc's as a human unfed vampire. Considering Fast travel uses a lot of time, you may end up in a city, but bad luck, it is your third day unfed when you arrive :(. Granted, I like playing the psychotic mass killing thing often, but sometimes, it is enjoyable to just walk around town, or be able to get into one of my many houses without having to slaughter all my neighbors. This was something I already had some issues with in Oblivion, and I was hoping Skyrim with the vampire Lord would do away with the hostile npc for human looking vampires. A solution would be a face covering armor. Take an elven armor, or something, how can npc's see how hungry I am? Or how can the sun actually affect me if my entire body is covered? To me, it would make sense that if your body is covered at day time, and your face is hardly visible, npc's do no notice you are a vampire, and the sun does not hurt you since it is not touching your skin - There's the vamp seduction, but it takes time when there's a swarm, and the companions do not always stop attacking my poor neighbors ^_^. Maybe a new perk in the Vampire Lord tree, that would affect your Human appearance - "Blend in", that would allow you to appear human to other npc's while active, with a running time of let's say 24hours, and no cooldown, or just a low level illusion spell with a large running time to cover fast travels. That way, it remains completly optional for people that like it the way it is right now, as it is extremelly easily accessible for the lazy people like me :)

That's kind of the whole point of being a vampire. Vampire lord is basically a powerful ability that makes you pay attention to your hunger for blood. I'm sure there is a mod that cuts that annoying part of being a vampire, but I wouldn't use it because i actually feel like it adds more immersion to the game. With that said, unless you find and download a mod, you're screwed.
P.S.: People are able to see that you're a blood starved vampire through your helmet even if it covers your entire face. It's stupid, but makes you pay attention to your levels of vampirism.

Aye, I get the idea behind it, but, and in the nicest possible way possible, I think it is a stupid idea :). I'll take another game as an example, that in my opinion implemented it correctly: Vampire: Bloodlines. Though the game had its flaws, you had a choice in what kind of vampire you were, and that affected how mortals saw you. Something similar in Skyrim would be nice in my opinion. 3 days go thru very quickly in Skyrim, and trying to weight bonuses/vs how easy it is to actually play the game and quest is annoying in my opinion :).

For the sunlight nerfing, that I can understand the point completly, even if clothing should protect you from it, I can completly see why it is there from a playability/immersion side of things.

But Vampires as we know them tend to blend in society, and only changes while feeding. They are usually beautifull and attractive, to attract their prey. Having a prey attack you is not a very common tactic for a hunter usually, and natural evolution tend to take the logical approach to things. To me, the vampires (non lords) are not designed properly for the hostility on either mythical, or logical point of views. If anything, NPC's should become friendlier to a hungry vampire, and willing to follow them in secluded areas for feeding ^_^.

I would have abolsutely nothing against a mod, but I could not find one, and as stated in another thread, my modding skills are erm... bad.

Before the last paragraph, you basically described the effects of vampire's seduction ( the most useful spell for a starving vampire in skyrim) and you spoke of a very specific type of vampire.
Problem is, this game doesn't give you any type of choice on being a vampire, you're either a vampire (vampire lord is actually more than a vampire, but you get my point) and take the pros and cons like a man or you're a werewolf and are more balanced and don't get annoying tasks. I am planning on being both a werewolf and vampire lord if possible, since I already have the cons of being a vampire lord and am getting used to them. Once you get used to regular feeding, you start to not care about it, you may make a mistake and miss a day of feeding, but that isn't too bad and can be solved. As I said, you can only get more options with a mod. I'll see if I can find one for you, but I wont' use it. I like the feeding.

I probably miss the vampire seduction thing, because my companion keeps attacking people regardless, and things turns to hell from here on :(

So far, I found this mod which makes you more powerful depending on how many people you bite, which is awesome http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11487
You can also find it in the steam workshop, just copy the name. I'll keep trying to find a way to stop the npcs from attacking you.

I'll re-check vampire secution and make sure I'm not a complete tool , which is most likely the case. For the mod, it seems to want to remove a BSA file, which as far as I know will not work on steam since steam checks games files If I'm not mistaken.

The mod is also on steam and it has 5 stars, it works. Just search "Vampire Overhaul" on the workshop.

Well I was wrong on the mod at least: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198005712571/myworkshopfiles/?appid=72850 - there's a steam version of it :D. I'll be trying that as soon as Skyrim is done re-installing (having other various issues, so I decided to uninstall it all, and reinstall everything from scratch ^_^ )

Thank you for that, it does seem quite nice - not sure I'll be going to bed before skryim is done now! :D

Yes, just searched a bit about the info refering to the mod. When you get 1000+ bites, you get a 3+ combat regen, which should counter even the sun problems that all vampires suffer from! I highly advise to try that mod, since you even get more motivated to bite people :) .
I hope that this information has been useful, if you need more help, just ask and feel free to add me on friends if you want to.

Sorry to bother again, but i forgot to say that with this mod you can feed on fresh corpses, which is a life saver.

I read the description and subscribed, it does seem nice indeed. As for hostiles, I'm guessing I'll need to recheck vamp check and slap my followers around a bit! I'll get some shut eyes first though! But thank you very much :)

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=15998 This is it, you can stop being hated in stage 4 with this mod, turn other people to vamps, mind control, etc. It's exactly what you wanted.

You shouldn't be getting attacked just for being a vampire. That used to happen, but it doesn't with DG. Did you let someone in town see you transform (to vamp lord) or something? No longer being attacked for being a vampire was one of my favorite DG things. Most of my characters have been vamps since then.

Note that this does not apply to DG members attacking you, since they are out hunting vampires.

Part of the Vampire mythos is that they don't just simply go walking around towns and people at any given time for any reason at all. There is a reason why they stick to the shadows and the cover of darkness. It's part of the role playing element of a vampire. If you don't like it, don't play it.

I have never liked the vampire element of the Oblivion franchise at all and that is why I have always avoided it, stealth isn't my cup of tea and I hate being confined to strict rules, which is exactly what vampirism is all about. If you'd take a moment, you'd notice that Skyrim's towns and villages are not littered with vampires and the few that do assult the towns are quickly noticed.

I love the Werewolf trait because it completely negates the chance of being a vampire.
