downloading, subscribing mods = childs play creating your own mods = mind blown...
May seem like an obvious point to any experienced modder out there, but are mods really that difficult to make? and im not talking about huuuge stuff like new quests, new provinces to explore etc.. i mean what i can only assume is small fry in comparison such as armor sets, weapons (with unique meshes ofc). is it really that complex? In taking whats probably the typical 'green grass roots unexperienced beginner' approach to this, all i can determine is that its just overwhelming to find out the 'easiest' programs to use and a simplistic, yet thorough step-by-step video guide on how to create these small mods. the amount of time wasted watching videos that you first thought might give you this information only to find theyre either not simplistic enough to follow, or they just arent offering the info you need. Perhaps its easy to say: 'yeah well, we had to go through that too so why should you get it any easier?' but im sure most modders find dealing with computers easier than myself and therefore take to it more naturally / quickly. At the same time, i dont want to give up. theres just maybe one or two mods i myself would love to create, and if i can figure out (what seems to be) this difficult process, id find it incredibly satisfying. so yeah, not entirely sure what comments im looking for in this discussion xD just wanted to vent i suppose.. some people say use this program, some say use that.. much as i appreciate their advice, it all confuzzles me the same xD

I think your best first approach would be to start with the workshop. Start small, and take it from there. As you get more experienced and create more expansive mods, you will eventually have to switch to a different mod creator program, because the workshop only allows up to a certain size file. Have at it!
the workshop?0.o.. you mean the steam workshop? i....didnt realise you could create mods using that...unless you mean.. im sorry im really out of my depth here xD
my hearts set on armor unfortunately x ) appreciate the tips. ^^
folks have (very kindly) recommended a bunch of programmes,

3DS something or other.... (all i recall is its not the nintendo thing>.>..)
GIMP
MUDBOX
NIFSKOPE (am i right in assuming this is used only to export files?...)
BLENDER
CREATION KIT (<--- pretty sure you cant create custom meshes in this one..)

i know you dont need all of them, but figuring out which is best for a beginner and for my specific modding desires seems to be the first (undoubtably of many) difficulties.. and ofc the order in which you'd implement each one of that chosen list..
I'm interested in learning to mod too but it looks difficult. This link might be helpful: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Skyrim._Part_1
Thing is, im willing to spend alot of time actually making the mod itself, but the problem is the sheer amount of time required to actually find out how to do it all... Must've spent days sifting through useless info now.. and btw thanks for the links guys! ^^
