SkyUI for xbox 360 controller? ^^

hey guys recently started using the awesome SkyUI, and have been thinking about getting a xbox 360 controller for skyrim pc. Just wondering if i did get one (and get it working ofc), could i still use the skyUI with it or is it mouse and keyboard compatible only? ^^ i know many would say the vanilla menu is optimised for controllers anyway but i think id still prefer to use the skyUI with it. All answers appreciated!^^

Check what the mod author has to say, although i somewhat remember them talking about it being optimised :)

I use Logitech controller with SkyUI, an there are some things you need to know.

The controller joysticks let you navigate ALL menus as normal. You will have a little trouble with favorites and hotkeys. But, there is a mod for that...

I use xpadder for my xbox controller and map out the keyboard and mouse buttons. That way I can still use the mouse to navigate the menus. Kind of stupid that clicking the controller option in skyrim disables mouse and keyboard.

i agree. Using both would have its advantages. though im wary of downloading other programs for these things. Tried it once for my ps3 controller, using something called 'motioninjoy'. (supposedly the most popular, reknowned program). didnt work and ofc once i did some research, there were plenty of articles stating how useless it was and how it could just be carrying viruses. is xpadder much better?

Whenever you enetr the SkyUI with a 360 controller, the mouse pops up and i believe you control it with the analog sticks, not sure if its very practical though. Why can't you just use the mouse when you pop open the menu?

not sure if that comment was aimed at me or SuperLotus97, i just find a controller more comfortable to use. mouse and keyboard can feel a bit clunky for me ^^

Just as a side note, you know that SkyUI was built with the explicit intention of getting away from the "Console-esque" control mechanism for the menus? To make the use of KB&M much better for those who play the "old skool" way? I don't see the point of using Skyui (unless needed for another mod) if you're using a controller as the game was originally optimised for the controller in the first place. Not having a go just pointing out the facts of the matter as I see them.

MIJ works fine, I use it myself all the time, although once you've installed teh drivers you should ditch the ad driven POS gui thats supplied with it and replace it with BetterDS3, get a bluetooth dongle for wireless use.

SkyUI is there to better organise your inventory, it works just as well with a k/b or or a gamepad (I use it just fine with my DS3 pad and I couldn't do without it) Vanilla menus are unorganised crap, simple as that.

The mod works terribly for controllers if you use a controller I would say stick with the default UI.

don't listen to people like ^ above me the mod works perfect with controllers as thats what i use to play
