help Nightingale

So ive goten to the part where im about to do the ceremony to become a nightingale and then the chick disappears before she can open the gate and I dont know how to remedy this situation. Any suggestions?

I had this problem too...and I'll be damned if I can remember where I got the solution...but I did a google search with the name of the quest and it gave me several ways to fix it, including using some console commands to get around the glitch.

Edit: And it just so happens that I did something smart for once and bookmarked it....

there are no consequences, the dragonborns soul is not his to give away, it belongs to akatosh and will retun to him, no matter how many deadric artifacts carries, no matter if he is werewolf, vampire, nightingale.

common problem. Go back to the guild an talk to the quest givers.don't remember their names. make sure you've done all the quests and get credited for them, now go back to the cave and she should be there. I had the same prob and this worked for me. hope it helped.

Why wouldn't a thief wan't to walk in the shadows of Evergloam, reaching to guard and care over those who came after? It is a better way to spend eternity than listening those drunken louts in Sovngarde.

I dunno..I think the Nightingale armor is one of the better light armor sets in the game. At least until one maxes enchanting and smithing...and can make dragonscale. Even the sword is pretty good..except for the fact that it seems to eat charges. I had to recharge it after almost every encounter.

And this was told by? Your broken coscience that hopes to have a good outcome? If you become a vampire, a werevolf or a nightingale your soul isn't yours any more, you have great advantages but you have lost Sovngarde, Dragonborn or not.

Wasn't Miraak a Dragonborn too? Where was Akatosh when he sold his soul to the old Herma Mora?

Basically few players recognize that some choices in the game have drastic consequences.

No fairy tales.

Nightingale = your soul is gone.
Werewolf = your soul is gone.
Vampire = your soul is gone.
Read to many black books = your soul is gone.

The only way to fool a Daedra is NEVER do what they ask you. Now i hope you REALLY like that Nightingale armor, becouse the price...

P.S. If you ended up being a Listener, then the Void waits you. Sithis is much older than any Daedra and also older than most Aedra, his claim will be the strongest of all.

As said above, nightingale outcome is the best for all, because it benefits thiefs who come after you.

I think I'd enjpy my time on the hunting ground. But then, my character is Bosmer, not a Nord.

Completly agree with you. My char would bore to death in Sovnagarde and he wants to forever chase the white deer at the side of his Master.

What I try to say is that few player truely understand the consequence of thei choices, but what Nocturnal says you during the ritual has not a second meaning.

I have another char that wants Sovngarde. He cured licantrophy, and now avoiding any contact with the other Daedra is very difficult.

Also, i think, accepting the Ebony Blade from Mephala, and unlocking its power, isn't enough to be hated by Akatosh?
