You can enchant it and wear it for extra enchantment effects, or you can sell it for decent money, particularly if it's enchanted and/or got gems in.

If you have a high enchanting skill with appropriate perks, by enchanting jewlry along with bodyarmor and helms, you can get 2 magic tracks to be able to cast any spell through master for free, or 1 magic track free to cast with other enchantment bonuses.

after that you will find severals gems in every chest you loot

buy/mine hundred or thousands of iron ore, transmute them into gold

gold + gems = jewels

enchant them.

Result: smithing, alteration, speech and enchanting maxed out and legendarized, and you will be freaking rich. My main char currently has 3400000 septims in cash. What i need them for? I can think to form up an army and free the empire from talmor.

Another option: you don't like jewels and don't care to become rich? Ignore them.

I'd like to see it show up on the gift list for kids, and have a function like that for spouses too. That way my wife won't be mad at me for being off adventuring for weeks with a 'hot' vampire chick... ;)

Speaking of, are there any mods for that? IE that make marriage more than cook me food and give me money?

Jewelry is important if you use enchanting. You can give up to 4 items the same enchantment, but not all enchantments can be applied to all apparel. Rings and necklaces accept all enchantments.

I use Jewellery as a quick and cheap way to level both Armoury and Enchanting skills.

Jewelry is great even if you don't enchant. I have a no enchanting build currently, but I use smithing. Making jewelry gives much more XP than iron daggers. Then sell the jewelry to up speech. It is also excellent to loot. Lightweight, yet worth a lot more than that iron warhammer or armor that weighs a ton. A mod to give it to kiddies and the ol' arrow in the knee would be rather nice.

I've seen jewelry spelled so many different ways in this thread that I had to go look it up. It still looks like I'm wrong. It's an awkward looking word.

Jewelry makes a great gift for your wife. Except there is no gift feature, so you have to reverse pickpocket. Drop some poison too while you're at it.
