When will someone fix the armor graphics?
I've tried the unofficial skyrim patch, and a couple of other mods. I even did a complete uninstall and a clean install, but no matter what, there are many clipping issues with the more decorative armors.

Daedric, Dragonbone, glass, ebony, all the game's most iconic armors (really everything past steel plate) have visual glitches that I just can't get over, from shields merging with gauntlets and legs to shouldeprlates cutting into the backplate.

Will nobody ever FIX this?!

Got any screenshots? Can't recall anything that bugged me that much off the top of my head.

Just this evening the Jarl of Morthal's Thane was flashing his thigh at me through studded because he was half on and half off of the throne pedestal. It's silly to look at but like Zefram says, it doesn't bug me that much. Weapons do strange things too at times. :P

If it bothers you that much you fix it...

If only I could. Unfortunately I have no graphic design training or software... I'm not even sure that's the right field. And, I have some screenshots, but I'm not going to show them here. Only going to bother if someone's actually interested in fixing it.

Yeah I had a flashing-through-studded-armor incident too. How does that not bug the hell out of you? I can't stand it!

I just think to myself - hmm.... that's not as bad as a dagger protruding horizontally from the hip.

How about an ebony shield with the pointy bits sticking right through your wrist? I get that, too. I have a decent laptop I used to play Skyrim on; it wasn't as obvious on that much smaller screen. Most of it wasn't, that is; I couldn't stand ebony or Daedric. Now I built myself a high-end gaming machine, bought a 24-inch screen for it, and it all stands out like a sore thumb. I have to stick to mundane-looking steel plate, or Dawnguard armor! Ugh.

Maybe you ought to drink a tad more? But, I know what you mean. But it looks better on my 24-inch HDS than it does on my 40-inch HDTV - you can see too much detail when it's that big and it's not all good. Ah well, bed time here (long gone) I just noticed. Laters :P

It's a limitation of the game engine. Actually all game engines really. We're not there yet. It's no different then a pixelated texture or a badly rounded model of a helmet that clearly is make out of triangles. There is works on a mod for shields but at the moment it makes it even worse. I suggest running around naked with a mod for unarmored skill.

Mormacil: I disagree, I think at least some of the fixes should be relatively straightforward. For instance, the problem with Daedric could be fixed by making the shoulderplates part of the curiass and having them move with the torso instead of the arms; that's the way real-life armor works, isn't it? I'm glad to hear about the mod for the shields. In some cases I think they just need longer handles that hold them further from the body. In the case of the Dragonbone shield though, and maybe a couple of others, I think they actually need to be made thinner as well. Ebony probably needs to have those spikes altered, and the gauntlets need to be narrowed down a bit so that arrows don't clip through them when doing archery.

Oh, and no, naked isn't necessary. Dawnguard armor seems to be bugless, as is steel plate, and most mod armors based on it. I mostly have to stick with the Imperial shield, though.
