I used the "Empathy" spell, it's from a mod, it shows information about the target. He's level 1 with over 30,000 health, and essential.

I'm not sure. But he did have a sword. He was friendly by default, but turned hostile when I mistook him for a corsair and set him ablaze...

He followed me in the ship, but didn't leave it.

He's the glowing green, that's the effect that the spell I cast has on him, you can see his stats on screen. He has no magika becuase my dagger drains it.

EDIT: I didn't mean he's classed as a stranger, I mean when I was attacking him, his name was literally "stranger"
