Texture files missing and 1 file failed to validate
I am having an issue where one file fails to validate but refuses to actually download when I check my games integrity. I would not really care as a search turns up that this error does not mean anything most of the time BUT I also have a missing some texture files that are not showing up in game. 2 textures at least show up missing right away - one for the quill pen and another that is all over the cave walls in the tunnel to escape Helgen. This is EXTREMELY annoying and I was wondering if there is anything that I can do to fix this. I was hoping that the validations would catch the missing and/or corrupted files but it does not seem to be working.

1 file.....
"This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message."

What about the missing textures though?

No one has any idea how to address missing textures?

Do you run mods? Do you still get missing textures even when you run the game with no mods installed at all?

Yes. I am running just under 50 right now but that was the first place I checked. After removing all my mods and starting a fresh game the same textures are missing. All my mods are done through MOD manager except the 2 that had self-installers (SkyUI and CBBE) but neither of those should have anything to do with those textures at all. So far I have noted missing textures under Helgen while escaping, wooden fencing in Whiterun, dwarven oil and Hawk feathers/quill pens (I think they use the same texture). Those textures should not have anything unifying them either.

I do have the high res pack installed through steam.

I don’t think it can be my machine - I just built it and it has plenty of processing power. i7 4.0ghz and an R9 video card.

The same textures are missing with vanilla and MODS running so I just don’t see how they can be the problem - particularly when MOD manager does not actually overwrite or change and of the vanilla files. In almost any other game you would simply re-acquire the textures – I don’t know what Beth was thinking when they removed the textures from the game files.
