Issue with Skyrim constantly jumping to the top of download queue in Steam client

Ok, first off I just want to say this. I'm not a fan of Skyrim. I bought it, played it for a few hours, put it down and haven't played it since about a year ago.

The game has gone un-updated for a while now (18 gb bandwidth OP) and I have about 3 gigabytes left in some updates leftover right now. I'm trying to update Darksiders 2 right now, but whenever I go to download something, Skyrim jumps right out of nowhere and updates itself, even though I specifically turned off auto-updating and have removed it from the download queue and all available update menus in the downloads section on the Steam client.

Is there any way I can get the game to stop updating or am I forced to use my limited bandwidth on a game that I don't even play or have any intention on playing?

If there are any other support forums i can post this problem on, please let me know.

I did. It normally only updates anything when I tell it to
