I have deleted all runaway files in folder steamapps common. After I re dwonload it, i quit steam after. I restart steam and now it is working. How strange ! I haven't update any video card drivers, so the problem doesn't necessary come from the PC config. I suppose it is a file problem in the runaway steam folder. Problem solved for me, how about you ?

Congratulation you found 9.260.000 sites about the wrong game. This is the discussion tread for "Runaway: A Road Adventure" not for "Runaway twist of fate" ;)

I have a problem with the firts opus of runway "runway : A road adventure" so this problem start when the game is launch and the screen is not full size and have a color problem a sort of pink/purple so if someone have an idea i think it's my config : windows seven, my processor is an AMD FX4100 Quad Core 3.60 GHz and my graphic card is an AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

I have the same issue here bart. Win7 x64, ati 5770, i5.

Have tried updating everything I can think of, nothing seems to fix it. Checked the cash integrity, uninstalled/reinstalled. Tried the video card selector program it came with. Tried just about (if not) every combination of compatability mode possible as well.

Shame too, I was really looking forward to introduce my nieces to this game. I had a blast playing it myself a decade or so ago. (Even though it can be a bit heavy on the "pixle hunt mini game" iirc)

The only semi work around I have found is to install VMware, and load up a Virtual win 7 install. Then install the game in there on the fresh os installation. My pc came installed with win 7 but with no media, so I was able to download it legally from here .
VMware download link

May seem like a bit of work but it really only took about 30m after the downloads finished.

I finally found a solution to make it works fine on my netbook.
Graphical properties :
1 - Switch the color to 16 bit.
2 - Switch the resolution to 1024x768.
If the recommanded resolution is not available:
A - Run the regedit
B - Search in the registry ALL the entry: "Display1_DownScalingSupported"
C - Change value to 1.
D - Restart the computer.

Now the 1024x768 resolution is available.
Set the graphical properties to: "Keep the proportions"
Now game is running perfectly and centered.
